Kellie Frain – Long Island University at Brooklyn (Bowling)

Major:  Health Management

Final list of colleges:  LIU-Brooklyn, Duquesne

Reasons for choosing LIU-Brooklyn:  “It’s closer to home, and the academics are great. The distance became the deciding factor because I really loved both schools.”

What was the progression that led you to compete in bowling at the collegiate level?  “My dad has been a really influential character in my bowling career. I only started in high school, and after we realized how big girls’ bowling in college was, I guess it kind of just happened from there.”

Coach Dave Nicol says:  “She does a lot of practicing, and she actually does a lot of bowling, which most of our kids do. Her strengths are that she’s consistent. She gets to the foul line pretty much the same every time, which is consistency. The girls’ team as a whole and the boys have won the last five SOL championships. She made states in singles last year, and she was runner-up for Bowler of the Year in Bucks County. She’s a class act kid. She’s very respectful. She’s a very good kid.”
