Coach Jon Pallone: “I’m very proud of all our players from the baseball team because they exhibit key qualities in our team’s culture. Some of those qualities are selflessness, character and passion.”
Jarred Housten – Misericordia University (Baseball)
Major: Education
Final list of colleges: Misericordia, Saint Peter’s, Franklin & Marshall, University of Dallas
Reasons for choosing Misericordia: “Winning culture, coaches and campus.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “I always wanted to play in college. I started the recruitment process my junior year, traveling to a bunch of different schools and tournaments.”
Coach Jon Pallone: Jarred had a great start to the year, almost had a no-hitter against Perkiomen Prep, losing the no-hitter on a technicality. Since it was a non-league game - when I pulled him from the game, Jarred didn’t really want to come out of the game, but he understood the need for his teammate to get the experience. This is just one example of his selflessness.
“Last year, Jarred had a difficult situation of being on JV as a junior because we had multiple college-committed seniors taking most of the varsity innings. We challenged Jared to dominate and continue to improve, and he did. This is a difficult task for a typical high school student-athlete, but Jared was up to the task. His biggest game of the year this year was beating Upper Dublin’s Austin Dahl in game one of the series. Not many pitchers can say they out-dueled him. I look forward to seeing Jarred learn to be a teacher at Misericordia, which was last year’s Division III college World Series champion.”

Macen Probition – West Chester University (Baseball)
Major: Education
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “Great baseball team and a great atmosphere.”
What was the progression that led you to playing baseball at the collegiate level? “The recruiting process started my junior year after a showcase. It was all uphill from there.”
Coach Jon Pallone: “Macen is an interesting and eccentric person. When he came to Myrtle Beach with us as a freshman, I’ll never forget him talking to himself non-stop on the mound during an intersquad game. He certainly has the personality to become a middle school teacher. A word that best describes Macen on the mound is electric. When he’s on the mound, he’s in control of the game. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and he’s continued to learn to control his passion. Macen’s best day on the mound this year was striking out eight against PW. He’s going to another great program at West Chester University.”

Cole Reich – Stevenson University (Baseball)
Major: Finance
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “I chose Stevenson University because of the interactions I had with the coaches and players that made me feel at home, and the university itself felt like home when I arrived on campus.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “I started thinking about playing in college during my freshman season. I started the recruiting process in the summer after my sophomore season by going to college camps and reaching out to the coaches of schools I was interested in.”
Jon Pallone: “Cole Reich is just a great person. He’s involved in Best Buddies along with many of his teammates and friends. As a captain this year, he’s done a lot of behind-the-scenes communication between coaches and players.
“Cole played his freshman year on the freshman team. He made a lot of gains in that offseason. The following year he skipped JV and made it all the way, not just to varsity, but the all-league level on varsity. This year he had a monster year as one of the top hitters in the league. Some of the coaches at our all-league meeting were discussing him as a potential conference MVP. Great job, Cole, looking forward to seeing you play at Stevenson.”
