“This group has been part of numerous wins, and in terms of awards over their years at Quakertown – as sophomores, they contributed to the best team in school history, and then this year, they accomplished wins over teams that have not happened in many, many years. They beat North Penn for the first time since 1979. They also beat a team down the road (Pennridge) three years on Thanksgiving, something that has not occurred since 1949, 1950 and 1951.As far as the players individually, they all have very different personalities. There are numerous stories about each and every one of them.”

Anthony Ferrugio – West Chester University (Football)
Major: Criminology
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “I fell  in love with the sports environment, and I just loved the coaches when I got there. It’s a good school and a good football team.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking about playing college football for so long. The recruiting process started in August after junior year, and it was long and stressful and exciting at the same time.”
Best memory competing in sports at Quakertown: “Showing up on Friday nights and walking into the locker room with the music bumping and all the football players getting hyped.”
Coach George Banas says: “This year, Anthony set records for sacks in a game. He did it twice this year with three sacks in each game, so he’s second on the list. One thing he accomplished this year that I’ve never seen in 25 years of coaching football – I’ve never seen a defensive end intercept a football, let alone do it four times and three times return it for touchdowns. It’s absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen it before, but it shows his athleticism. I think that’s what Duke (West Chester coach Duke Greco) really saw in him when he was at Del Val as the head coach and then got the head coaching job at West Chester, and one of his first calls was to Anthony to try to get him there at West Chester. He could play on both sides of the ball there. We wish him the best at West Chester.”
About Anthony:
Favorite food:
Cheesesteak egg rolls
Favorite TV show: Reacher
Favorite music: Country

Logan Jeffery – Ursinus College (Football)
Major:
Business
Reasons for choosing Ursinus: “I chose Ursinus because of the great business program and the ability to play another four years of football. The moment I set foot on campus it just felt like home to me.”
Best memory competing in sports at Quakertown: “Just being able to spend every day at practice or Friday nights during the game just being with my brothers.”
Coach George Banas says: “Logan came back to us this year. We were happy to see him come back home to do our kicking duties and also really gave us a tremendous look against our first team players on both sides of the ball. He kept nagging and nagging and nagging to get on the field. I’m like, ‘No, you’re a kicker, you might get hurt. That’s what happens to kickers.’ He’s like, ‘No, I’ll never get hurt, I promise.’ The first game I let him play – he got hurt.
“But having him back, having his personality back, it was a pleasure. I’m glad he was back home with his friends, and we were excited to have him. We wish him the best of luck.”
About Logan:
Favorite food:
Crab
Favorite movie: Remember the Titans
Favorite music: A mix of everything.

Vincent Micucci – Shippensburg University (Football)
Major:
Exercise Science
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “I chose Shippensburg because after my first conversation with the coaching staff last spring, I fell in love with the mentality of the program, and after visiting the school, it just felt like home to me. It has a great environment both athletically and socially throughout the campus, and they have my major.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “I started thinking about playing college football when I first started playing football at the age of five. I started to take this dream more seriously over the last two years when I started to get recruited.”
Best memory competing in sports at Quakertown: “Beating North Penn this past fall for the first time in 40 years.”
Coach George Banas says: “Vince will be attending Ship, and he’ll be up there with Mac (coach Mark Maciejewski), who was a grad assistant when I was there, so he’s in really good hands. Vince is scattered all over the record books. He’s third in passing yards and completions all-time. He is – and this one is going to kill him and probably always will kill him – one yard short of number of passing yards in a season, but he is number one in a season for completions. He’s first for touchdown completions in a game with five and is fifth in TDs for his career. He set numerous records, and I think he’ll have the same opportunity at Shippensburg to set records there. He’s come a very long way from being that scrawny little ball boy and water boy not too many years ago on the sidelines. I wish the three of you the best of luck.”
About Vince:
Favorite food:
“My mom’s homemade chicken pot pie.”
Favorite TV show: The Office
Favorite music: R&B or Country
