Michael Dierolf  - Le Moyne College (Swimming)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Le Moyne College, Washington & Jefferson, York, Penn State Altoona

Reasons for selecting Le Moyne:  “I went on an overnight recruiting trip and really liked the school and everyone I met on the team.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in swimming at the collegiate level?  “I always thought about it but not seriously until the beginning of senior year. I started the recruiting process in September which was very late which made it harder, but I still ended up finding schools.”

Coach Mike Peters says:  “This past year the Quakertown High School boys’ swim team – led by Mike Dierolf – had its most productive season ever. With his unstoppable work ethic and never-quit attitude, Mike helped shape the winning culture of our team. When it came to practice, Mike was consistently the first one in and the last one out. That dedication and preparation allowed Mike to set not only new school records but new records at different pools around the league.
“By the end of the season, Mike had put together an impressive resume. Not only was he our team captain, but he was first team all league. He was conference champion in the 100 breaststroke, district qualifier in the 100 free and 100 breast, set new team records in the 100 free and 100 breast. He was part of the relay team that set the record for the 400 free relay, and he was part of the relay team that set the record for the 200 medley relay as well as numerous other awards.
“I could not be more proud of Mike and all that he has accomplished this year. I have no doubt that with the same level of desire, dedication and determination Mike will find even greater success at the next level, and I know one thing for sure – that the LeMoyne College Dolphins just got a whole heck of a lot faster.”
