On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Quakertown senior Kennedy Bowen was recognized for committing to continue her gymnastics career at Kent State University.

Reasons for choosing Kent State: “I was considering a bunch of other schools, but Kent State stood out the most to me 
because one of my best friends is a freshman there. I really liked the coaching staff. We talked a lot when I was going through the recruiting process. I would see the coach at training camps, and we would talk. He just seemed really interested. I remember going to a football game for Quakertown, and he called me and offered me a spot on the team. I took it right away.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in gymnastics at the collegiate level? “I started gymnastics when I was one year old – I started with the Mommy and Me classes, and we continued on from there. I started competing when I was in first grade, and I have been hooked ever since then. I would go to travel meets with my coaches and my teammates, and I would have a ton of fun. I just loved it and I still do.”

The coaches at Stallone Gymnastics have had the pleasure of coaching Kennedy Bowen for the past four years. She is a focused and dedicated athlete who trains 20 hours per week, 12 months a year. Her work ethic and dedication has earned her a prestigious spot on the Kent State University gymnastics team. Her passion for the sport has allowed her to overcome many obstacles. We are confident that her positive attitude and strong character will enable her to have a successful D-1 scholar-athlete experience.
