Ashley Morris – Penn State Berks University (Volleyball)
Major: Criminal Justice
Final list of colleges: Penn State Berks, Penn State (Main), East Stroudsburg, West Chester
Reasons for choosing Penn State Berks: “I wanted to play volleyball, and I knew I wanted to play a lot, so I figured D-III would be a really good choice for me. I love the campus. I already met the coach and some of the players, and I really like them.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in volleyball at the collegiate level? “I just really love volleyball. I used to play like six different sports at once when I was in middle school. I started (playing) less and less sports and started focusing on certain ones. I finally thought – I just love volleyball so much, and I wanted to focus on that instead of other sports and play all year round.”
Coach Kellie Csrenko says: “I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Ashley for two years. Ashley has been a great defensive player for us as our back row libero. She’s always come through, and she led our team in digs and service aces, so she was a big part of our offense and defense throughout the season. I think she’s going to do really well at Berks. I’m really excited to come see some of her games. I’m really proud of her.”
