On Thursday, May 27, 2021, Andrew Saglimbeni was recognized for committing to continue his golf career at DeSales University.
Andrew Saglimbeni – DeSales University (Golf)
Major: Finance
Reasons for choosing DeSales: “Close to home”
What was the progression that led you to competing in golf at the collegiate level? “I had a passion for the game, and I started thinking about playing in college last year.”
Coach Brittny Buonanno says: “I coached Andrew for one year, but it was an awesome, amazing year. Andrew was honored last fall by the Suburban One League as an all-conference selection. Andrew was chosen for this honor based for his play in the regular season and his leadership on and off the course. Andrew’s final season at Quakertown was highlighted by a top 20 finish at the Suburban One League championship while competing against over 100 players. This finish qualified Andrew for the district and regional competition. Andrew played well enough to make the cut at districts and fell just short of qualifying for the state championship. He is the first Quakertown player in years to make the cut at districts. Andrew showed the leadership as a senior at Quakertown by his hard work and dedication to the game. He improved his scoring average over 10 strokes from 2019 to 2020, which is absolutely amazing. His respect for the game and work ethic helped to inspire Quakertown to be its best in over a decade, so thank you Andrew for that. We appreciate you very much. He will be greatly missed by the players and, of course, his coaches at Quakertown High School. We are sure you will prove to be a great asset to the athletic program at DeSales University. Good luck, Andrew.”
