Gian Carlo Bocchino – University of the Pacific (Swim)
Major: Electrical Engineering
Final list of colleges: Pacific, Cal Poly, University of California San Diego
Reasons for choosing Pacific: “I chose Pacific is because I felt like I fit right in with the team, and it was where I could see myself.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was this past states. I was able to be the anchor leg of the relay that placed third overall.”
Coach Lou Williams: “Gian Carlo is a California kid, so I think this was a comfortable move for him to go out there. He’s swimming in a Division 1 program, and that’s going to allow him to travel and see some very good competition early in his college career.
“He has matured as a person and as an athlete so much since his freshman year. I’ve known him since he was nine as an aquatic club kid, and he has really become a well-rounded young man and athlete. He anchored our 400 free relay this year at states, and we won third, which was our best finish in seven or eight years and broke our team record. We’ve got some fast records on our board, so those boys putting their names up there was a huge highlight for our season.”

Aidan works hard to be the best he can be for his team and family. His passion, resilience, and love of the game will serve him well as a college water polo player.
