Souderton Trio to Compete in Collegiate Soccer

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Souderton seniors Andrew Kerns, Danny Brun & Tannor Wiszneski were recognized for committing to play collegiate soccer.

Danny Brun – York College (Soccer)
Major:
Nursing
Final list of colleges: York, Bloomsburg, Thomas Jefferson
Reasons for choosing York: “I chose York because right when I got there the coaches and team were so welcoming, and Tannor going there too also helped.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was the first home playoff game we had against West Chester East with the huge ‘Red Sea,’ and we won 2-0.”
Coach Frank Demas: “This is the first year I had Danny because he came back from MLS NEXT to play with us, and thank goodness he did because he was a real asset in the back. He turned out to be a really good leader. He was a great chemistry guy on the team, and he just really worked hard. He was one of the backbones at center back for us, and he’s going to be missed.
“Danny and Tannor are going to York together. It’s a great program, and they should be able to make an impact hopefully right away. We’re going to miss all three of these guys, and we’re going to miss their leadership most of all. They were great kids. They have been the program for so long. They work very hard.”
About Danny:
Favorite food:
Seafood Boil
Favorite TV show: Breaking Bad
Favorite music: Country

Andrew Kerns – Millersville University (Soccer)
Major:
Chemical Engineering
Final list of colleges: Millersville, East Stroudsburg, Ursinus
Reasons for choosing Millersville: “I picked Millersville because of the team camaraderie and the closeness they have together as well as my major.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was beating Abington in the second round of districts. Just the atmosphere and the ‘Red Sea’ – it was just amazing.”
Coach Frank Demas: “Since I started here, Drew Kerns has been my guy in the midfield. We started him right away two years ago. I knew this kid was going to be special. He had a great year this year. I think he played almost every second of every game in a difficult position in that attacking midfield position. He’s a guy who always lifts his mates up – he’s a consistent positive influence on the field. He is maybe irreplaceable. He had 18 assists and I’m not sure how many goals, but he had really good numbers. He’s a really good worker in the middle, and he’s also a natural leader – always takes responsibility, never puts blame on anyone else. He outworks everybody in the midfield and is constantly picking his team up. It’s going to be tough to replace these three. They’ve been my guys for a couple years, and they will absolutely be missed. Kerns is going play in a high level D2 program, and I think he’s going to kill it at Millersville.”

Tannor Wiszneski – York College (Soccer)
Major:
 Business
Final list of colleges: York, Millersville, Thomas Jefferson
Reasons for choosing York: “I chose York because of the coach, and I liked the facilities there.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was the Springfield game, winning 2-1 and going to states.”
Souderton coach Frank Demas: “We’re going to miss Tannor. How can you not miss a kid who scores 20-plus goals and had eight assists on the year. He impacted the game a lot in the final third of the field. He worked hard the entire game. I don’t think there’s ever been a part of a game where he’s not sprinting or communicating or busting his butt to work hard and come back and help defensively. He’s a guy I got when he was a junior, and I could see something right away, and that’s the reason he was a captain as a junior. He was one of those guys who was a leader, who would work hard, who was going to break his foot to score goals to win games for the team. He was incredible. All the boys respect him and like him. We’re going to miss him a lot. We built around these guys. They’re going to do well collegiately.”
About Tannor:
Favorite food:

Favorite TV show: The Walking Dead
