On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Souderton seniors Noah Nelson Carroll, Bryce Solly & Mateo Barrera were recognized for committing to compete in track and field at the collegiate level.
Mateo Barrera – Mount St. Mary’s University (Track & Field)
Major: Business & Sports Management
Final list of colleges: Mount St. Mary’s, East Stroudsburg, Kutztown
Reasons for choosing Mount St. Mary’s: “I chose Mount St. Mary’s because of the culture of the team, and it’s a 
beautiful campus.”
Coach Anthony Pace: “I coached Mateo in football – he was one of our quarterbacks, fullbacks and linebackers back in eighth grade. I’m so glad to see he’s continuing his athletic career at Mount St. Mary’s. He’s just a real awesome guy. All these guys are great teammates, they bought into the program, and they put in the work. On the boys’ side, the coaches have them doing so many different events – 4x1s, 4x4s ‘Hey, Mateo, do an 800. Can you do hurdles?’ He’s always stepping up to the plate and doing it. He’s someone that’s so naturally gifted he can literally qualify for districts in seven, eight events. His biggest strength is probably the 200 and 400. He’s been involved in the 4x1 relays, he’s been involved in the 4x4 relay. He’s a state medalist and went to nationals. He can do it all.”

Noah Nelson Carroll – King’s College (Track & Field)
Major: Psychology
Reasons for choosing King’s: “I was looking at some small schools. I decided on King’s College because my major and athletic career aligned nicely.”
Coach Anthony Pace: “Noah is a pole vaulter, so a lot of times he’s on that side of the house where I don’t see him often. Being around him, he’s the one who’s always helping the coaching staff, he’s always respectful of the coaching staff and saying thank you. He’s always looking to help out other people, always looking to keep someone smiling, always keeping a joking attitude. He’s just a wholesome guy.”

Bryce Solly – DeSales University (Track & Field)
Major: Business Administration
Final list of colleges: DeSales, Susquehanna, Ursinus
Reasons for choosing DeSales: “I decided on DeSales because of the great coaching staff and also the professors, and it just really matched my athletic and academic future that I wanted.”
Coach Anthony Pace: “I actually coached Bryce in middle school track and field, so I got to see him when he was a seventh and eighth grade. He’s a great, great person with a great personality. He’s a hard worker, and he doesn’t cheat practice. He has been filling for the 4x4 relay when they needed something, and he helped those guys get a state medal in the winter. He’s just a fun, natural guy to be around. He thrives in hurdles – hurdles became his craft. He’s dedicated and a great teammate.”
