On Friday, April 30, 2021, Souderton seniors Kobi Bui, Justin Wawrzynek and Luke Wawrzynek were recognized for committing to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. Coach Mark Cornes passed away unexpectedly on May 22.
Kobi Bui – Gordon College (Lacrosse)
Major: Communication Arts

Reasons for choosing Gordon: “It was a great academic fit for me and the perfect size. The coach really recruited me hard, so I really couldn’t pass up the opportunity.”
Coach Mark Cornes says: “I’m very lucky to have Kobi Bui join our team. He was a transfer, came in as a senior and was a tremendous leader and somebody I’m very happy to have had a year to coach. He’ll be going on to great things at Gordon College with a great coach over there as well, and I look forward to seeing how he does in his collegiate career. He’s a heck of a player, and I wish I’d had him for more years.”

Reasons for choosing Wilkes: “I chose it because they had a lot of options for me to choose from.”
Coach Mark Cornes says: “I had the privilege of coaching Justin when he first joined the program – he was a sophomore on the jayvee team. Luke Wawrzynek has been a perennial face-off and defensive midfielder for us. Both Justin and Luke are identical. Not only are they twins, but they think and act and play very similarly to each other. It’s kind of ironic that they’re going to be going to the same school, being that they are so similar in nature and mindset. They’re always dedicated to anything that they’re doing. They’ve been connected for life, and now they’re going to be connected for college. I know that they will bring great value in their dedication and mindset to the next program at Wilkes University. I wish them nothing but the best.”
