Souderton's Krader Commits to Swim at Delaware

On Thursday, April 26, 2018, Souderton senior Storm Krader was recognized for committing to continue his swimming career at the University of Delaware.

Storm Krader – University of Delaware (Swimming)

Major:  Civil Engineering

Final list of colleges:  Delaware, Drexel, Wyoming, Gettysburg

Reasons for choosing Delaware:  “Wyoming was too far from home, and all my other choices were close. I really like the campus at Delaware, and I really bonded with the team when I went for an overnight stay. They also have a really good program for my major.”

What was the progression that led you to swimming at the collegiate level?  “I only started swimming about six years ago. After my second year, I was doing pretty good, and I thought maybe I could swim in college. The more my high school career went on, the more I knew I wanted to.”

Favorite memory swimming at Souderton:  “My favorite memory is a tie between two memories. One was from this year – I got third in the backstroke at states, and I was seeded eighth place, so that was really exciting for me. My other favorite memory is when me and my teammate got first place in every event at this one championship, so that was pretty fun.”

Coach Rob Faccenda says: “He has tremendous drive. Storm is such a hard worker. He’s so easy to coach. You tell him one thing, and he adjusts it the next day and he’s better. Just his focus and desire – I think he wanted it more than most kids did. I think Delaware is a wonderful situation for him. It’s a great school academically, and I think athletically it fits him perfectly. I think he will really thrive there.”
