On Friday, April 30, 2021, Souderton seniors Courtney Mallon & Clark Trowbridge were recognized for committing to play collegiate lacrosse.
Courtney Mallon – Wilkes University (Lacrosse)
Major: Criminology
Final list of colleges: Wilkes, Scranton, York College, Alvernia
Reasons for choosing Wilkes: “I chose Wilkes because I enjoyed the campus and the team.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “Pasta parties with the team”
Coach Claudia LaMarca says: “Courtney was a goalie for us, and obviously, goalie is a tough spot to be in. She split time with our other goalie, so it was a constant battle of either playing in tough situations or supporting our other goalie. She really was key for us in a lot of big games. She was able to maintain her cool during really tense situations. That composure she gained throughout the course of the year is going to carry her to Wilkes, and I think she’ll really find success in the cage. She has a positive attitude, and she’s a really good teammate, always there to pick you up when you’re down or offer more support if you need it. Not only is she going to be a great asset to their team skill-wise in goal, but she’s also a great teammate.”
About Courtney:
Favorite food: Tacos
Favorite TV show: The Office
Favorite music: I really enjoy most music, but a favorite song is Bazzi – “Myself”
Clark Trowbridge – Widener University (Lacrosse)
Major: Chemical Engineering
Final list of colleges: Widener, Ursinus, Shenandoah
Reasons for choosing Widener: “I chose Widener because it checked off a lot of the boxes location and size-wise for me.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “Pasta parties with the team”
Coach Claudia LaMarca says: “Clark was a huge leader for us. We didn’t define captains, but she definitely stepped into that role for us. Her skill really developed over the course of the year. She was taking control on attack and setting her teammates up for success. At the collegiate level, I think she’s only going to continue to grow in that capacity because she can really do it all as an attacker and she can run the midfield if needed, so she’s versatile. She’s a really hard worker. Going in as a freshman, it’s going to be a little bit of an adjustment, but I think she’ll do really well.”
About Clark:
Favorite food: Chocolate chip pancakes
Favorite TV show: The Office
Favorite music: Any music that gets me hyped for game day
