Chris Binet – McDaniel College (Golf)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges:  McDaniel College, Roanoke, Tampa University
Reasons for choosing McDaniel:  “I loved McDaniel’s campus and the small school feel. When I visited, I felt like the golf program was a perfect fit for me. It is run like a D-1 program.  Going to McDaniel, I know I can make an impact on the team right away.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in golf at the collegiate level?  “I always knew I wanted to play golf in college. It was just a matter of what level. When I was a junior, I started talking to a few coaches and went from there.”
Coach Tom Vizza says:  “Chris was really a wonderful journey. We knew he was going to be special when we got him as a freshman. He was talented, and he stuck out. He physically and mentally did a lot of growing at a rapid rate, and that was really wonderful to be part of. Watching him convert potential to achievement was a very special thing to be around as a coach. Any coach and any teacher will tell you that the privilege of teaching and coaching is to be around those moments when kids take potential and turn it into success. Seeing it mixed with intermittent disappointment along the way makes it all the sweeter. You know they’ve had a rich and full experience that will stick with them for a long time. Chris is going to do some great things at McDaniel.”

Thomas Godin – Alvernia University (Golf)

Final list of colleges:  Alvernia, Temple, West Chester, Widener
Reasons for choosing Alvernia:  “Alvernia University felt like home every time I went up for a visit. Everyone from the coaching staff to the faculty made me feel welcome, and I really appreciate it.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in golf at the collegiate level?  “I had aspirations of playing in college my freshman year, and to see it all unfold now is really special. Colleges started contacting me my junior year by email, and they eventually came to watch me play. The whole experience was so much fun, and I loved every second of it.”
Coach Tom Vizza says:  “For Tom, it’s a wonderful opportunity to go to Alvernia. It’s time for him to turn to a new chapter and seek out new opportunities to fulfill his potential. He was a late bloomer and golf nut, which is a great combination in a lifetime game, so he really has good golf in front of him, and we wish him the best.”
