Jack Jamison – Gwynedd Mercy University (Baseball)
Major: Sports Management
Final list of colleges: Gwynedd Mercy, Alvernia, Ursinus, Albright, Moravian, East Stroudsburg
Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy: “Academics, baseball and location.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “Ever since I started playing baseball, I have never wanted to stop. I knew from an early age I wanted to play for as long as I could. I truly love the game and have devoted a large portion of my life to baseball.
“I started thinking about college baseball in middle school. The recruiting process started my sophomore year of high school. I began to go to camps and email coaches. Ultimately, I was able to find the best place for me athletically and academically in Gwynedd Mercy University.”
Coach Ed Wall says: “Jack’s been a two-year starter for us on the varsity team. He’s been an awesome kid, just 100 percent competitiveness. Nobody wants to win more than he does. He not only pushes everybody else, but he pushes himself more than anybody. Anytime there’s a tough loss or something he wasn’t happy with, he’s back the very next moment he can, and he’s working on it. Whether it’s right after the game, the next morning or the next practice, he’s always trying to get better. We’re really going to miss his level of intensity and his commitment to improve. Off the field, he’s a great kid, a role model in the classroom and does all the right things. I’m so happy for him that he’s having that opportunity to play at the next level. It’s been something he’s been working towards for a lot of years, and I’m glad that moment is finally here for him.”
