Colin Asper – Shippensburg University (Soccer)
Major: Business
Final list of colleges: Shippensburg, Temple, St. Joseph’s
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “The location – it’s far enough away that I’m not still at home, but it’s close enough that it’s not a hassle if I want to come home. I also had a very good time with the team, and I liked all of the kids there, so it seemed to be a pretty good fit.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I think to some extent I always knew I was going to play. I’ve been playing since before I can remember.”
Coach Andy Meehan says: “Colin still has yet to reach his potential, which is a scary thought. Every year he’s still growing and becoming a better soccer player. He’s an excellent one-on-one defender – he rarely gets beat defensively, he’s able to get up and down the sidelines as an outside back and cover a ton of ground. You can tell he’s a soccer player. He’s got the ability, he’s got the tools, he’s got everything he needs. I feel like he’s a player who will reach his potential when he gets to Shippensburg. I see big things for him at the college level.

John Visher – Hobart College (Soccer)
Major: Marketing
Final list of colleges: Hobart, Drexel, Temple
Reasons for choosing Hobart: “I liked the coach a lot, I liked the team as well, and it’s right near a lake, so I was like – I want to go there.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level? “I always wanted to play college soccer since I was 13. I just kept working for it, and I got there.”
Coach Andy Meehan says: “John is an excellent technical player. He has one of the best feet on the team. He’s someone that throughout his years suffered through injuries, but he worked his way back. Anytime he was on the field, he was a difference maker. His skills are going to definitely be missed, and it will be very helpful when he gets to Hobart.”
