On Friday, April 12, 2024, Upper Moreland senior Kyra Favors was recognized for committing to continue her soccer career at Chestnut Hill College.

Reasons for choosing Chestnut Hill: “I liked that it was really close-knit like Upper Moreland, and everyone seemed to know each other and have a close relationship, which is a similar vibe. I met some of the girls on the team, and they were really nice. The coach was really welcoming.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “After I tore my ACL sophomore year and I had to sit out for a while, that grew my love for it more and made me want to keep going beyond high school.”
Coach Lisa Benvenuto says: “Kyra is a true student of the game. She has developed her skill over the years and has a profound impact when she is on the pitch. She is tenacious in front of the goal being equally strong with her left and right. She brings out the best in her teammates and always puts the team before herself. She was a four-year varsity starter, she battled back from a knee injury, she was All-Suburban One all four years, captain and MVP in her tenure at Upper Moreland. The best part about her though was her love for the game, her desire to improve, her grit and determination to do whatever she can to help her team succeed.”
