Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy: “It’s close to home, and I have teammates going there. I just felt like I was home.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level? “Just from playing travel softball my whole life, I didn’t want to give it up.”
Coach Melanie Martino: “Steph has been a key player for us the last two years. She was our starting center fielder and leadoff batter her junior and senior year. She has a strong work ethic and played through multiple injuries, and the only way to keep her off the field is to get the trainer to literally say – you cannot play. She’s such a tough, tough kid, and she just wants to compete, and she just wants to win.
“Steph’s a great kid. She also was a captain for us, and along with the other seniors, she really helped cultivate a positive team culture.”
