Coach Rich Clark says:  “Kenzi is just one of those players that every coach dreams about having on their team. She is a complete five-tool player, and she was the ace of the (pitching) rotation as well. Every time I looked up, Kenzi was on base again. The kid has so much confidence every time she steps to the plate. With an average hovering around .600 and 19 extra base hits including 14 triples and three home runs, she is just an offensive juggernaut. Every time she gets on base, she’s a threat to run, but it isn’t just her speed. It’s the combination of her speed with the fact that she’s a smart and aggressive base runner. That puts so much pressure on defenses, so she can change the whole dynamic of the inning and game just by getting on base – something she did a whole lot of this spring. Over the past several years, I’ve had the honor of watching her grow and mature both as a player and as a person. I could not be prouder of how she stepped up this year to become the leader of the entire team by both her actions on the field and by being more vocal in challenging her teammates. With a young team, that is priceless, and I think it’s really going to have a positive impact on this program for years to come.”
