Wissahickon senior Maggie Bianchini was recognized for committing to continue her volleyball career at Arcadia University.
Maggie Bianchini – Arcadia University (Volleyball)
Major: Special Education
Final list of colleges: Arcadia, Rosemont, Delaware Valley, Immaculata
Reasons for choosing Arcadia: “I selected Arcadia because I saw myself thriving in my major and also in volleyball. The campus is the perfect size for me, and also, it is not far at all.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in volleyball at the collegiate level? “My sister Deanna played college volleyball, and ever since then, I have been involved with the idea of pursuing volleyball in college. I started the recruiting process during my junior year playing club. I started to fill out recruiting forms from lots of colleges. Senior year is when I really started to get involved with reaching out to college coaches and showing my interest.”
Coach Ella Lauri says: “I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Maggie Bianchini in volleyball at Wissahickon High School. My best memory of Maggie was watching her hustle and attempt getting to every ball. Maggie always set a fine example of my main rule – never let a ball hit the floor without effort, effort that paid off for her during many matches. Her passion and hustle will truly be missed. I wish Maggie the best of luck next year at Arcadia University.
