Eddie Fortescue – Arcadia University (Baseball)

Major:  Sports Management

Final list of colleges:  Arcadia, La Salle, Mount Saint Mary’s University, Millersville

Reasons for choosing Arcadia:  “Great sports management program, good relationship with coaches, close to home.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “I have been playing sports since a young age (five years old), and I have always wanted to play at the college level. The recruiting process started my junior year, and I have talked to several coaches for multiple sports. When I met with coach (Bryan) Torresani and after visiting the school, I felt at home.”

Coach Andy Noga says:  “He played three sports, he’s a terrific athlete, and he’s just a great all-around kid. Eddie is one of those guys that gets it. Regardless if it’s basketball, soccer, kicking for the football team or playing first base for us, he just wants to be out there playing a sport and being with his friends and his teammates.
“Eddie is a grinder out on the baseball field. I always tell him he’s too good of an athlete to play first base. I think he’ll be more of an outfielder when he gets to Arcadia because of his athletic ability. He has great speed, he can play excellent defense, he has a great arm, and he’s still growing as a hitter. As he gets stronger, he’s going to have more pop in his game.
“What he brings to the table is his athleticism. You put him anywhere on the diamond, and Eddie will figure it out and do a great job.
