Wissahickon's Joseph Commits to Compete in Fencing at Notre Dame

On Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, Wissahickon senior Dominic Joseph was recognized for committing to continue his fencing career at the University of Notre Dame.

Reasons for choosing Notre Dame: “The University of Notre Dame has won 13 NCAA D1 championship titles and sent 11 athletes to the Tokyo Olympics for fencing. Notre Dame’s illustrious fencing history includes 292 All-Americans and a 0.903 all-time winning percentage.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in fencing at the collegiate level? “I began fencing when I was seven years old. I train four days a week at Brooklyn Bridge Fencing Club with Olympian Dan Kellner. Head coach Gia Kvaratskhelia recruited me for Notre Dame in December 2021 after I won the Cadet Men’s Foil Gold Medal at the North American Cup in Columbus, Ohio.”
