John B. Creighton III is a highly accomplished coach, athletic administrator, and advocate for inclusive sports programs. With extensive experience in coaching basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse, he has also played key leadership roles in the Suburban One League and the PIAA District One Committee. Passionate about equity in athletics, Mr. Creighton has pioneered Unified Sports initiatives at three high schools in Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties. This includes unified soccer, unified bocce, unified track partnering with the Special Olympics, and unified cheer and unified pickleball as club opportunities for students.

In addition, Mr. Creighton has managed major athletic camps and competitions at ESPN Wide World of Sports, secured grants for sports equipment and inclusion programs, partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), and presented at state conferences on adaptive athletics and diversity in sports. During his time at William Tennent High School, John has moved boys and girls club lacrosse to the PIAA and added girls wrestling and girls flag football to the offerings for student athletes. A Certified Athletic Administrator and Title IX Coordinator, John Creighton continues to drive innovation and opportunity in youth and high school athletics.

Over the course of his 22 years in education, Mr. Creighton could not have survived without the encouragement and support of his family of educators. They are spread out throughout Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties, but hold similar philosophies in helping all students succeed. Bettyann and Jack Creighton, John’s parents saved his life on more than one occasion. He is forever grateful they did. In 2015, all three Creighton’s were recognized by the City of Philadelphia with the Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities Access Achievement award. While at George Washington high school, Mr. Creighton developed curriculum for classes entitled Personal Fitness for Girls and Sports for Acceptance striving for equity and inclusion in Physical Education. There have been times during Mr. Creighton’s educational career that the students did more for him than they will ever know. While battling the effects of a traumatic brain injury in the early 2000’s, the students at Grover Washington Jr. Middle School in the Olney section of the city were his saving grace.

For close to 10 years, John has been married to Kelly Creighton, a special education teacher in Springfield Township School District. Kelly’s patience, kindness, and humor are qualities Mr. Creighton continues to try and emulate in his daily life. Raising children when their daddy isn’t home in the evening, on weekends, holidays, and summers has not gone unnoticed. Thank you!

The Creighton’s have 2 beautiful boys, Jack IV (8) and Logan (6). They enjoy team sports, fishing, surfing, snowboarding, camping, and being on the beach.

John Creighton is a 1996 graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia lettering in soccer, baseball, and cross country.

Mr. Creighton is a proud graduate of East Stroudsburg University majoring in Health and Physical Education. John also holds a master’s degree in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University and K-12 Administrative certification from Cabrini University.
