SOL National Conference
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, BENSALEM 1
The Panthers maintained a share of the conference’s top spot, notching a hard fought win over the visiting Owls.
Setter Paul Nedeoglo handed out 27 assists. Jay Layer led the Panthers with 13 kills, nine digs and four aces. Jack Steilen was also a force at the net with 10 kills, six blocks and three aces, and Joe Vasilevskiy added six kills and six digs. Connor Fleming contributed four kills and three blocks, and Kirby Mooney had three blocks and three kills. Cody Keeny was a key on defense with eight digs and two aces.
For the Owls, Jeremy Rodriguez and Jack Wineburg led the attack with 12 kills each. Ohm Patel and Ricky Patel both had 15 assists, and Arjun Patel had a strong game defensively with 18 digs and two aces.
William Tennent (7-1, 6-1 SOL) will host Cheltenham on Thursday, and Bensalem (4-4, 2-4) travels to Archbishop Wood on Thursday.
SOL American Conference
PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-16)
The Rams earned a road sweep of the Patriots to stay on the heels of conference-leading Upper Dublin.
Setter Riley Kodidek had 22 assists, five kills and seven digs. Tyler Johnson had eight kills with an impressive .727 hitting percentage to go along with four blocks. Nick Smith had eight kills with a .500 hitting percentage and also had two blocks. Thomas McKinney had eight kills and six digs, and Jude Rotondo added six kills and two aces. Alex Derk had 10 digs and two aces.
Leading the Patriots was Matt LaBouliere with eight kills, seven assists, three aces and 21 digs. Also contributing were Connor Callaghan (2 kills), Josh Lyzinski (3 kills, 1 block, 1 dig), Andrew Perillo (1 kill), Steve DiRugeris (4 digs), Pat Haurin (1 kill, 1 dig), Aiden Leichter (1 ace, 11 digs), Ethan Scott (1 kill, 1 dig), Ryan Coxey (6 assists, 1 ace, 2 digs), Reid Miller (1 kill) and Rhys Marshall (2 assists).
Pennridge (6-1 SOL) will travel to Quakertown on Thursday, and Central Bucks East (6-4, 5-3) will host Central Bucks South on Thursday.
NORTH PENN 3, QUAKERTOWN 2, (25-22, 24-26, 22-25, 25-23, 15-10)
In a tightly contested conference match, the visiting Knights eked out a win over the Panthers in a grueling five-set match.
Senior Aaron Foulke led the Knights with 19 kills and eight blocks. Setter Brian Landes handed out 46 assists and also had two aces. Junior Caleb An contributed 10 kills and four blocks. Junior Sion Yeo also helped the cause for the Knights with his nine kills and, according to coach Eric Headley, “awkward celebrations after each one.”
For the Panthers, Micah Reinford had a huge match, finishing with 23 kills, 13 digs, three aces and two blocks. Zander Marks added 14 kills, four blocks, one ace and seven digs. Isaac Moises had three kills and seven blocks while Andrew Sturgess had four kills, four blocks and one dig. Setter Cody Steiert had 45 assists, two kills and two blocks. Logan Parker had 10 digs and one aces, Kurt Glaeser added nine digs, and Anthony Clark had eight digs and one ace. Also contributing were Kevin Richwine (2 kills, 1 block) and Phil Richwine (1 kill, 1 block).
North Penn (4-6, 4-3 SOL) will travel to Souderton on Thursday, and Quakertown (3-5, 2-5) will host Pennridge on Thursday.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
The Flying Cardinals kept their perfect record intact with a four-set win over the visiting Titans.
Terrell Turner (11 kills, 2 digs) led the Flying Cardinals at the net. Benjamin Dorsey had nine kills, two aces and a team-high 17 digs. Landon Kullmann contributed eight kills, five digs and one block. Dominick Plaku also had a big game defensively with 16 digs and one ace. Setter David Levin handed out 24 assists to go along with three kills, eight aces, nine digs and one block. Ari Weiner added one kill and three aces.
Upper Dublin (8-2, 7-0 SOL) will host Central Bucks West for Thursday’s Senior Night match at 5 p.m. Central Bucks South (0-10, 0-7) will travel to Central Bucks East on Thursday.
SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (25-21, 25-15, 21-25, 25-17)
Nate Brown turned in a monster performance for the Indians, slamming home 25 kills to go along with five aces in a four-set win over the visiting Bucks.
Andrew Brown added 12 kills while JC Peacock had five kills and Tobie Lias had three kills.
Souderton (4-5, 4-3 SOL) will host North Penn on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (2-8, 2-6) will travel to Upper Dublin on Thursday.
