UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2
Upper Dublin celebrated its four seniors with a hard-fought Senior Night win over the visiting Bucks.
Seniors Liam Cassidy and Tyler Pohl have been part of UD’s program for four years, but this is their first year on varsity. Benjamin Dorsey has been part of the program for three years and a member of the varsity for two years, and David Levin is a four-year varsity player.
“All four of them are doing a standout job,” UD coach Paul Choi said. “Last year we had a lot of success, and we lost eight seniors, so going into this year, these four seniors have really stepped up, and so far, we’ve been as successful as last year. It says a lot about the seniors and the leaders because they know what it’s all about.”
Dorsey turned in a stellar all-around performance, leading the Flying Cardinals with 17 kills, 16 digs and two aces. Levin dished out 32 assists and also had seven digs and two blocks. Terrell Turner also had a big night at the net, contributing 15 kills, one ace, two digs and one block. Landon Kullmann added eight kills and nine digs while Dominick Plaku had 10 digs and one assist. Cole Brown added six assists, two aces and five digs.
“West is a great defensive team and did a good job keeping us out of system,” Choi said. “UD came through when we needed to and was able to come out with a big win.”
Upper Dublin (9-2, 8-0 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Friday, and Central Bucks West (2-9, 2-7) will host Lower Merion in a non-league match Monday.
