Council Rock South traveled to Pennsbury and opened the game scoring the 1st two goals. Pennsbury bounced back and reeled off the next 4 goals. CR South closed the gap to 4-3 with 1:17 left in 2nd quarter. Pennsbury then netted a goal right below halftime to stretch the led out to 5-3. MJ Feeney came off the bench and sparked the Golden Hawks with (2) 3rd quarter goals. The game was tied 5-5 heading into the 4th quarter. In the 4th quarter, Joey Smith and Antti Autere opened the scoring giving the CR South a 7-5 lead with 6:21 left in the game. Pennsbury scored next with a goal at 5:28 and followed it up by scoring off the next face off. CR South’s Antti Autere struck again to give the Golden Hawks a one goal lead with 3:48 remaining. With the score 8-7 Pennsbury was able to force overtime with 19 seconds left. In overtime, Bobby Kennedy scored the game winner on a terrific bounce shot the from the top that hit corner.
On Monday, Council Rock South (7-4) travels to CB South for a SOL contest. Pennsbury (5-4) will host Avon Grove tomorrow in a non-conference game.
