On Wednesday, May 11, Upper Dublin senior David Sharp was recognized for committing to continue his baseball career at Eastern University.
David Sharp – Eastern University (Baseball)
Reasons for choosing Eastern: “I really like all the academic programs they had to offer. The coaching staff are all good people that seem to run a very clean and organized program, and the campus was great as well.”
What is your favorite Upper Dublin memory? “The 13-game winning streak the baseball team went on last season (my junior year) to put us in the district playoffs.”
Coach Ed Wall says: “David pitched for us and was an everyday outfielder for us. Last year, he also played first base. He’s going to Eastern, and he’ll be playing first base there and I’m sure will be on the mound or in the outfield. He’s just a super athletic kid. He’s been one of our hardest workers since day one, and I really noticed a huge change in him between his freshman and sophomore season. He absolutely totally metamorphosized into a ballplayer where I could see - this kid’s serious. He wants to be good, and because of a lot of work he put in by himself, everything that he earned was through a lot of hard work, time and effort. He’s just a super likable kid. He’s always so grateful for everything we do, and he’s one of the guys that helped us get to that next level, and I couldn’t be more proud.”
