On Thursday, May 12, 2022, Hatboro-Horsham senior Caleb Hudson, Tommy Harmon & Ryan Toporowski were recognized for committing to compete in soccer at the collegiate level.
Caleb Hudson – Lock Haven University (Soccer)
Coach Kyle McGrath says: “Caleb Hudson is going to Lock Haven University. He’s been a four-year varsity starter for us. He’s been one of our leaders over the past three seasons. He’s a player who wasn’t always the most outgoing early in his career, but he developed into our best leader and a well-respected player in the area. Caleb started three years at center back, but his versatility allowed us to move him around as needed. He was always a threat on set pieces because of his nose for goal, and he scored some big goals for us over his four-year career. He was a captain for two years, an all-league player all three years he played at Hatboro-Horsham. Athletically, he’s great, and in the classroom, he’s great, and I’m looking forward to seeing him play at the next level at Lock Haven University.”
Ryan Toporowski – Widener University (Soccer)
Coach Kyle McGrath says: “Ryan Toporowski is going to Widener University. Ryan’s a guy who went on the normal trajectory for us. He played on the freshman team, he played a year of junior varsity, but then he really sprung into the varsity lineup as a junior and didn’t come off the field the next two seasons. He’s a guy who we could play at center back, who we could play at center mid, and we knew he was going to give everything he had. Halfway through our season this year, we were in a little bit of a rough patch, lost some games we probably didn’t think we should have lost. My staff and I decided to name Ryan a captain, and from that moment on, it changed the course of our season, and we were able to make the deepest run in playoffs we’ve had since 2008, and Ryan was a big part of that. He’s an all-league player two years in a row and looking forward to seeing him play down at Widener hopefully with one of our former alums, Andrew Hurrell.”
Tommy Harmon – Thomas Jefferson University (Soccer)
Coach Kyle McGrath says: “Tommy Harmon is going to Jefferson University where he will be playing with his brother Matty. Tommy is a four-year varsity guy. He’s someone who’s been around the program for almost a decade now because of his brothers. He’s a kid who if you looked at him and just saw his size – you’d just push him to the side, but his heart is bigger than anybody I know. He constantly worked hard. He put himself in a position to get on the field as a freshman, and the last four years he’s been a key factor in our success. He’s somebody who finds the pocket of space on the field, he’s somebody who goes about his business. The relationship we’ve developed over the past four years is something I’ll cherish with him and all these guys. Again, I’m just so proud of the group of them and how far they’ve come over the past four years. They’re greatly going to be missed going forward.”
