Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “I really connected with the coach at Shippensburg and all of the other athletes that were on the team – it definitely seemed like a community that stuck out to me. Their success in the business area was something that also caught my attention.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in cross country and track at the collegiate level? “I started to want to run in college last year in track because I slowly started realizing that I feel like it’s something that would definitely be great to keep on with my health and fitness. Also, just my overall competitiveness is something I want to continue through college.”
Coach John Mahoney says: “Brennan has been a member of our team for four years – both cross country and track and field. He has progressed phenomenally over the past four years and has been an integral part of our program. When Brandon first came to us and signed up when he was in eighth grade, he wasn’t sure if this was the right sport for him. To see him now four years later heading off to Shippensburg to compete at the collegiate level in track and cross country is a remarkable accomplishment for him. He’s been a phenomenal leader for us, a vocal leader for us. You know you’ll always get his best on the track. Brennan is one of those kids – sometimes I tell him, ‘Hey, you have a busy day today. You don’t need to give me 100 percent every single race,’ but he only knows 100 percent all the time. I admire that from him, and I know that’s why he’s going to be successful at the next level. It’s been an absolute pleasure to coach Brennan over these last four years, and I’m excited to see what he’s going to accomplish the next four years at Shippensburg.”
