NESHAMINY FIELD HOCKEY PREVIEW

Coach:  Jamie Pinto, 7th year

Assistant coaches: Brittany Beck and Kathleen Kervick

Last year’s record: 14-6, Co- Champs Patriot Division

Notable losses: Colette Schardt and Riley Wert

Key returners: Senior captains: Avery McGinty, defender (ESU commit) and Olivia Roscoe, midfielder(Millersville commit). Senior goalie, Brittany Mattoi (Widener commit). Junior defender, Morgan Shaltens and sophomore forwards Ava Arbakov and Kasey Rieger

Others to watch: Junior forward Mia Sermarini, Sophomore Alayna Roscoe, midfield/defense and sophomore defender Maddy Shtino

Strengths/Question Marks:   We have played well in our two scrimmages; defense has been strong, led by Avery McGinty, and goalie Brittany Mattoi has really stepped up and has been playing well. Offensively, we have been able to score and move the ball well; Ava Arbakov and Kasey Rieger have looked strong and ready for the season and Olivia Roscoe has looked strong at mid.

Outlook: “Throughout preseason, the girls have been working hard— every season, we try to build on the past and continue to improve. With our senior leadership from McGinty and Roscoe and skilled underclassmen, goals for the season are to win the league, reach districts and beyond and continue to work hard and play together as a team.”
