The Indians earned a sweep in Thursday’s rivalry match
Edan Kauer had another big match for the Golden Hawks, contributing 14 kills, eight aces and two digs. Nala Kauer had six kills and five aces, and Gracie DeSaro added four kills and one block. Setter Ashlyn Dinan had 25 assists and one ace, and Lindsey Korn led the defense with nine digs and two aces. Shani Sun had six digs, two kills and one ace while Cadence Palmer had four digs. Rachael Buchnik added two kills, and Cassidy Melnick had one ace.
Council Rock South (6-2, 4-0 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham in a non-league match Monday, and Council Rock North (2-4, 0-3) will travel to Pennridge for a non-league match Friday.
PENNSBURY 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-5)
The Falcons used a strong serving game in their sweep of the Tigers with 29 total service aces. Kiersten Adair led the Falcons with six aces, three kills and two digs. Kiera Rogan had five aces and three kills. Caroline Croteau had five aces and Faith Szumigala with four aces shared setting duties. Stephanie Adamousky and Brynn Magee both had four service aces. Claire Macelroy came up strong at the net with four kills and Ella Visco had two kills. Kira Sendlock, Annika Foundos, Ainsley Dysart and Jocelyn Fang (one ace) all contributed one kill. Jadyn Rogan led the defense with six digs.
Pennsbury (6-1, 3-1 SOL) will participate in the Southern Lehigh Tournament on Saturday, and Harry S Truman (0-4, 0-3) will travel to Quakertown on Monday.
BENSALEM 3, NESHAMINY 2
SOL Continental Conference
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, PENNRIDGE 2 (25-19, 25-27, 23-25, 25-23, 19-17)
The Patriots battled back from a 2-1 deficit to win the last two sets and eke out the win in a match that saw four of five sets decided by just two points.
“It was a real barnburner,” East coach Jackie Curci said.
Setter Katie Monaghan had 30 assists and led a strong service game with 11 aces. She also had four kills. Setter Mia Mettille had 23 assists and two aces. Maddy Ware (16 kills, 1 ace, 1 block), Samantha Sharp (14 kills, 2 aces) and Aimee Wolf (11 kills, 3 blocks) were a triple threat at the net. Kate Malobisky added six kills and one ace while Megan Colbert had two kills and one ace.
Central Bucks East (4-4, 4-0 SOL) will participate in the Black Knight Invitational on Saturday. Pennridge (2-5, 2-1) will host Council Rock North in a non-league game on Friday.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-22, 25-23)
Alexis Barklage slammed home 19 kills and also had three blocks and one ace in a superb effort, leading the Bucks to a win over their sister school.
Setter Erin Ferello had 24 assists and 11 digs, and Rachel Hu turned in a dominant effort at the service line, leading the Bucks with 11 aces to go along with six kills and a team-high 14 digs. Caroline Taylor added 12 digs, one kill and one ace, and Alexa Lee added 10 digs and four aces. Hollis Walton had three kills and three blocks while Mackenzie Lund had three kills and two blocks.
Central Bucks West (6-1, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Haverford on Saturday, and Central Bucks South (1-7, 0-4) will host North Penn on Tuesday.
SOUDERTON 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-23)
The visiting Indians rolled to a sweep of the Indians.
Teya McConaha led the Indians at the net with 10 kills, two blocks, three aces and two digs. Setter Grace Boyd had 19 assists, one kill, two aces and six digs. Alexa Mazzeo led the defense with 11 digs and four aces. Zoe Folk had six aces and seven digs.
The Panthers received contributions up and down their lineup. Kayla Sicher led the way with 11 kills and nine digs, and Grace White had eight kills, three blocks and one dig. Setter Anna Skogen handed out 21 assists and also had two kills and two digs. Erica Gildea’s 19 digs led the defense. Also contributing were Katelyn Martinez (5 digs), Carissa Ievers (1 kills, 5 digs), Cece Bates (1 kill, 1 ace, 1 dig), Elliie white (1 kill, 1 block, 1 dig) and Mia Handschumacher (1 kills, 3 blocks, 1 dig).
Souderton (4-2, 2-1 SOL) will travel to Archbishop Carroll for a non-league match Monday, and Quakertown (1-5, 1-3) will be on the road at the Southern Lehigh Tournament on Saturday.
SOL American Conference
NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, ABINGTON 1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21)
In a battle of SOL American Conference powers, it was the Lions remaining perfect in league play with a hard fought win in four sets.
“Abington played hard and aggressive the whole way and brought out the best in our Lady Lions,” New Hope-Solebury coach Chris Marchok said.
The Ghosts received huge performances at the net from Kenya Lucas (19 kills) and Sasha Moody (13 kills). Sophomore setter Mary Carter had 27 assists.
New Hope-Solebury (7-1, 4-0 SOL) will travel to Council Rock South on Tuesday, and Abington (7-1, 3-1) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Tuesday.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, WISSAHICKON 0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22)
The Colonials used a team effort to earn a sweep of the Colonials
PW freshman Marissa Storti led all hitters with six kills, followed by junior Natalie Small with five kills and senior Neve Straff with 5 kills. Caroline Veon led the Colonial service attack with four aces and racked up 14 digs.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (6-0, 3-0 SOL) will host Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in a non-league match Friday.
