The final outcome does not reflect how fiercely competitive the match was vs NP. We were proud of how each of our lines responded to the speed and physicality this afternoon. North Penn has a great, fast pitch and will battle you for a full 60-minutes.
We were able to get onto the board in the 1st (11:17) when Mimi Duffy crossed the ball for a Eve Damsker back-side tip-in. Nina Mayro doubled our advantage in the 2nd with a nifty reverse (1:15) to hold a 2-0 halftime lead.
After a nice sequence of passes, Aida Ierubino finished off a Nina Mayro pass to push us to a 3-0 lead.
Calista Boos fired a penalty-stroke laser into the back of the cage early in the 4Q (13:18). Nina, Eve and Lily were all able to finish after multiple passing sequences in the 4Q.
We had very good connections and ball movement that lead to many attacking opportunities. When NP attacked, our defensive and team was able to hold the line to maintain a clean sheet by the end of the match.
