CENTRAL BUCKS WEST GIRLS’ BASKETBALL PREVIEW
Coach: Zachary Sibel (4th Season as Head Coach)
Assistant coaches: Jen Fabian, Matt Powell, Calypso Carty
Last year’s record: 17-9 Overall, 7-3 in league play, finished 12th in District 1
Notable losses: Emily Spratt (Jefferson University Basketball)
Key returners: Tai Henkels (SR G), Katie Finnan (SR G), Gabi Senior (JR G), Ava Longo (SR F), Alexis Castro (JR F)
Others to watch: Nia Perry (SR G), Taylor Madden (SR G) Gabby Reichner (JR F) Megan Blue (JR G), Peyton Cramer (Soph G)
Strengths/Question Marks: “The departure of four-year varsity starter and key player Emily Spratt (Jefferson University) leaves both big shoes to fill but great opportunities for rising seniors and juniors. We have a strong senior core headed by Henkels, Longo, and Finnan and a junior class that took great strides last year as sophomores. All players will be playing in elevated roles that are new and exciting.”
Outlook: “Our SOL division is so tough, a meat grinder of sorts, where every team beats up on one another. With strong player leadership, we hope to compete for a league title and make another run in the SOL and District tournaments.”
