SOUDERTON 6, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5 (OT)
The Indians found themselves staring at a 5-3 deficit early in the third period, but any thoughts that the Golden Hawks had this win in the bag were put to rest in a hurry. Nick Smith (Sean Ryon assist) made it a one-goal game six minutes into the period, and with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, Jacob Chow scored an empty net goal, using assists from Maxwell Ryon and Liam O’Neill.
That set the stage of OT, and the Indians brought an early end to the drama when – 1:44 into OT – Matthew Malanga scored the game-winner with assists from Maxwell Ryon and Chow.
Earlier, Rock South took a 2-1 lead after one period, sandwiching goals from Blaize Pepe (Illia Mukhin assist) and Mukhin (Jake Weiner assist) around a goal by Chow (Seth Grossman assist).
In the second quarter, Grossman scored the equalizer, but Bobby Gilbert responded, scoring with assists from Jonah Weston and Gavin Nisenzon to give the Golden Hawks a 3-2 advantage. Grossman scored less than a minute later (Maxwell Ryon assist) to even the score. Weiner answered with an unassisted goal to send the Golden Hawks into the final period with a 4-3 lead.
Weiner scored his second goal 1:58 into the third period, using assists from Mukhin and Kevin Koles, but Rock South’s 5-3 lead turned out to be anything but secure.
The Golden Hawks held a 37-31 advantage in shots, but that advantage was negated by the 32-save effort of Noah Connor.

The Redskins and Indians settled for a tie in an SHSHL battle at Grundy on Friday.
Karson Grainey scored a short-handed goal to give the Indians a 1-0 lead after one period.
Back-to-back goals by Daniel McColgan (Michael Knipple/Nolan Geria assists) and AJ Dougherty (Daniel McColgan/Ryan DeMatteo assists) put the Redskins on top midway through the second period. A power play goal by Jackson Accardi late in the period evened the score 2-2 heading into the final period.
In the third period, the two teams exchanged goals. Grainey scored his second short-handed goal of the night, and Aiden Gaspari (DeMatteo assist) evened the score midway through the period. That 3-3 score stood.
Neshaminy goalie Aidan Hullings turned away 41 of 44 shots. Rock North goalie Ian Goldberg was credited with 32 saves.

The Patriots broke a scoreless tie with four goals in the second period to take control of Friday’s rivalry game on the way to the win.
Kyle McIntyre put the Patriots on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal 50 seconds into the second period. Stephen DiRugeris (Corey Kosick assist) made it a 2-0 game with a goal four minutes later. Ethan Cenci’s goal with a Gavin Widmer assist gave the Patriots a 3-0 advantage, but the Bucks cut into that lead with a goal by Zane Sanders less than a minute later. Ryan Gerken got that goal back, scoring late in the period for a 4-1 East lead.
In the third period, the Patriots received goals from Corey Kosick (Jaden Young assist), DiRugeris (Cenci assist) and Drew Trask (Owen Brackbill assist).
Cole Breen (8 saves) and Matt Mangiacapre (18 saves) combined for 26 saves in a winning effort in goal for the Patriots.

The Panthers dominated Friday’s non-league game and held a 50-15 advantage in shots, but Tennent/Hatboro-Horsham goalie Charlotte Reeves kept her team in the game, turning away 44 shots.
Brandon McNally scored an unassisted goal 4:37 into the first period, a goal that turned out to be the game-winner. A minute later, Lucas Cunnane scored with an assist from Cole Slemmer, and the Panthers led 2-0.
Quakertown added three goals in the second period. Jack Diliberto scored with a Connor Ellmore assist, and midway through the period Braden Bishop scored (Slemmer/Diliberto assists). Bishop’s unassisted goal late in the period sent the Panthers into the final period with a 5-0 lead.
Cole Slemmer’s unassisted goal on the power play late in the third period closed out the scoring.
Quakertown goalie Matthew Krem was credited with 15 saves in the shutout win.

The Ghosts opened up a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back on their way to the win over a Colonial squad looking to move up in the standings with a win over the conference’s top squad.
Griffin Carpenter put the Ghosts on the board 10:25 into the opening period, using an assist from Sam Abramson. It marked the beginning of the 3-0 run that included goals by Jordan Heydt (Sean Doyle/Seamus Donofry assists) and Sam Paulik on the power play with assists from Donofry and Devin Bates.
PW scored the lone goal of the second period when Conlan Carpenter found the net on the power play, using an assist from Dylan Novitski.
The Ghosts closed it out with third period goals by Heydt (Paulik assist) and Abramson.
Sam Nemec turned in a strong outing in goal in the win, recording 37 saves on 38 shots.

Stephen DiRugeris scored a hat trick to lead the Patriots to a win Thursday.
The Owls took a 2-0 lead four minutes into the opening period, thanks to goals by Alex Hood and Alex Bazylevich (Hood assist). The Patriots answered with back-to-back goals to even the score 2-2, the first by DiRugeris with assists from Drew Trask and Jaden Young and the second by Charlie Keiser.
East’s Owen Brackbill scored an unassisted goal in the second period to give the Patriots a lead they would not lose.
In the third period, DiRugeris scored a power play goal with an assist from Ethan Cenci. DiRugeris found the net with an unassisted goal to cap the Patriots’ 5-0 tear. Hood closed it out with a goal assisted by Bazylevich with less than a minute remaining in regulation.
East goalie Matt Mangiacapre was credited with 28 saves in the win.

Will Hussa scored six goals and assisted on another for a seven-point game to lead the Trojans. Griffin Lynch added three goals and assisted on two others, and Matthew Winkowski had a four-point game with one goal and three assists.
The Trojans all but put the game away early with four unanswered goals in the first period. Hussa scored with a Konrad Foulk assist 8:39 into the contest, and that 1-0 lead stood until the final three minutes of the period when the Trojans reeled off three goals. Lynch scored an unassisted goal, and then Winkowski scored with an assist from Hussa, and Hussa closed out the productive period with his second goal, this one assisted by Winkowski.
The Trojans reeled off five unanswered goals to open the second period – a pair from both Hussa and Griffin Lynch (one on the power play) and a single goal by Jack Raebiger on the power play. Springfield broke up the Trojans’ shutout big with a power play goal from Grayson Quinn (Tyrel Defreitas assist).
Hussa closed out a big day with back-to-back goals in the third period.

PENNRIDGE 5, NESHAMINY 3
The Rams outscored the Redskins 3-1 in the third period, breaking a 2-2 tie and earning the win.
Shane Dachowski scored the go-ahead goal with assists from Kevin Pico and Andrew Savona 2:49 into the final period, and a goal by Josh Kelly (Nate McKean assist) gave the Rams a 4-2 lead. JJ Hathaway made it a one-goal game with just over a minute remaining in the contest, connecting on the power play with a Max Gallagher assist. Dachowski’s empty net goal in the closing second gave the Rams their final margin of victory.
The game started out on a promising note for the Redskins, who opened up a 2-0 lead after one period. Noah Seewagen scored a power play goal with an assist from Michael Knipple, and Gallagher found the net with an unassisted goal.
The Rams evened the score with a pair of goals in the second period. Tyler Martin scored 1:28 into the period, using an assist from Josh Kelly, and Kelly’s goal with assists from Colin Dachowski and Nate McKean knotted the score after two periods.
Jacob Gilbert notched win the goal for the Rams, turning away 25 of 28 shots.

Matthew Flynn and Dylan Novitski both turned in four-point games to lead the Colonials. Novitski connected for a hat trick and also had an assist while Flynn had one goal and three assists. David Branigan added three assists for the Colonials.
The Colonials seized early control of the game, opening up a 3-0 lead in the first period. Isaac Mishkin scored 3:44 into the period with an assist from Timothy Murphy. Novitski’s goal with an assist from Flynn and a goal by Flynn (Conlan Carpenter/Novitski assists) gave PW its three-goal edge.
Novitski’s goal with assists from Flynn and David Branigan put the Colonials on top 4-0 before the Trojans got on the scoreboard late in the period with a goal from Will Hussa (Aiden Brooks/Konrad Foulk assists).
In the third period, the Colonials added goals by Novitski (Branigan/Flynn assists) and Jacob Elgart (Branigan assist).
PW goalie Christopher Maslij turned away 38 or 39 shots he faced in a winning effort.

The Titans took a tenuous 4-3 lead into the third period when they outscored the Indians 3-1. Three players – Matt Crouch (1 goal, 2 assists), Aydin Thierolf (1 goal, 2 assists) and DJ Lindenmuth (3 assists) - had three-point nights for the Titans.
The Indians led 2-1 after one period, thanks to goals by Lucas Siomos (Michael Booth assist) and Karson Grainey (Ryan Keil/Jackson Accardi assists). Grainey’s goal came on the power play. Matt Crouch (Jeffrey Kvecher/Lindenmuth assists) connected on a power play to account for the Titans’ goal.
Ryan Frey scored early in the second period to knot the score, using assists from Keith Waldron and Sean Cutter. Nicholas Hahn (Grainey/Noah Epstein assists) answered with a goal for the Indians, and this time, the Titans answered with back-to-back goals by Aydin Theirolf and Jake Stepp (Thierolf/Crouch assists). Stepp’s came on the power play.
Colin Mendham capped a 4-0 Titan run with consecutive goals to open the third period – the first with assists from Thierolf and Lindenmuth and the second assisted by Crouch and Lindenmuth. Just like that, the Titans led 6-3. The two teams exchanged goals in the final minute of the game – Epstein scored on a power play with a Siomos assist, and South’s Logan Hood scored an unassisted goal to close out the scoring.
