Tonight was a special night for so many reasons. It was our first game back in the gym after it was damaged over winter break. We were playing Hatboro Horsham who is our cross-town rival. EmmyFaith was 13 points away from getting 1,000. We had a lot of support tonight and the place was packed and loud. A lot of former players came out to support the girls and EmmyFaith. A large amount of our Upper Moreland Basketball Club athletes came out to support. It was a really great night. The game started off slow and we missed a few easy ones but then we got hot and didn’t look back. Midway through the 2nd quarter EmmyFaith hit a 3 on a great pass by Alyssa and screen by Mikel, getting her to 1,000 career points. We were hoping that it would happen tonight and you could feel the stress lift off her shoulders when she made it. Hatboro Horsham kept playing tough and made us work. Randa had a good game for them. She can be tough to cover sometimes because of her length and she has a nice touch around the basket. She also made dribble penetration against their zone difficult because she alters shots well. Thankfully tonight we were able to make some outside shots and work the ball around well enough to come out victorious.
