After tough losses, you always wonder how a team will respond. Tonight’s game had a weird feel. It was a 5:00 varsity only game and we arrived around 4:35. The whole pre-game routine that everyone is used to was thrown off. I give our girls credit because they came out red hot and ready. We created some turnovers early, moved the ball, and made the extra pass for easy baskets. We jumped out early in the first quarter but then kind of took our foot off the gas. They made some good adjustments defensively and we didn’t respond well to it. Bullard for TCA is very disruptive. She’s every bit of 6”4’ with long arms and she’s very patient in the lane. Her length made their zone challenging because they put good pressure and jumped passing lengths because they knew they had help behind them. Mack for TCA is a really solid guard and very intelligent on both sides of the ball. Mikel played great defense against her and made it hard for them to get into rhythm offensively. Offensively we went into a cold spell in spurts but made enough plays to get the win.
