Central Bucks South Comments
After dropping the first set to a very scrappy North Penn team 22-25, the young CB South Titans fought back to win the next 3 straight sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18. It brings their record to 3-2 on the season. The Titans were once again led by junior Ben Grove, who's thunderous spikes over the blockers could be heard echoing in the hallways of North Penn. Ben tacked 18 more kills onto his resume after a 24 kill match at Souderton last week. The Junior outside hitter is really shaping up to be one the best players in the league. He also added 9 digs, a pair of aces, not one service error and had an excellent passing day. Setter Josh Conley did his part with 8 kills, 10 digs and 18 assists in the match showing his leadership capabilities. The real story of the match was trying to fill the void left by our biggest blocker and second best offensive weapon. He missed the match due to a terrible stomach virus. Filling 6'5" Will Nothum's shoes was not really possible but, a called up, first year, JV player named Brody Cocca did his very best. Brody did exactly what I asked him to and that helped get us the win. A new player to the game this year, Brody gave us just enough extra to get us over the hump against a relentless opponent who rarely let the ball hit the floor untouched. Other contributors to the evenings victory were OH Jake Sciscio, MB Aimen Kharroubi, S Sam Snyder and OH Damion Lewis who all played their part beautifully in securing the win for the Titans. Additionally, without the passing and defensive prowess of Libero Will Tantum and DS Zeke Gift the victory would not have been possible. A real team effort by the boys tonight.
