SOL National Conference

BENSALEM 3, ABINGTON 0
The Owls defeated the visiting Ghosts to earn their seventh straight win. Dev Patel (6 kills 10 digs) and Yosuf Khan (7 kills 1 block) stepped up big in key spots for the Owls. Libero Rohan Patel (3 aces 16 digs) served and defended well for Bensalem. Jack Wineburg (9 kills) had a strong game at the net.
For the Ghosts, Isaac Burstyn contributed five kills and three blocks and, according to coach Maddy Robinson, was instrumental in keeping the three games competitive. Danyel Mayo also contributed three kills and a block from the middle. Zach Miller again led Abington with 11 kills (0.428 average) and nine digs. Jack Scharnikow also racked up nine digs to go along with six kills. Setters Brendan Dougherty and Max Brahler racked up nineteen and nine assists, respectively, and Libero Nikolay Grinyuk had eleven digs on the night.
“Bensalem is consistently one of the hardest working teams we face,” Robinson said. “They get a hand on every ball in the gym. It is absolutely backed up by their record at this point in the season.
Bensalem improves to 7-1 overall (SOL 5-1). The Owls will travel to Neshaminy on Thursday, and Abington (2-7, 2-5) will travel to Central York on Saturday.

SOL American Conference

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0
The Patriots used a balanced effort to earn a sweep of their sister school.
Matt LaBouliere was a catalyst with eight kills, 13 assists, four blocks and one dig. Reid Miller had seven kills, five aces and two blocks. Ethan Scott (6 kills, 6 blocks) and AJ Helveston (6 kills, 2 aces, 1 dig) were also impact players at the net. Justin Berger contributed four kills, three blocks, three digs and one ace while Pat Haurin had three kills. Aiden Leichter (8 digs) and Steve DiRugeris (3 digs) contributed defensively. Ryan Coxey had 19 assists to go along with two digs and one ace.
“CB South got off to an uncharacteristically slow start last night, losing badly in the first set,” South coach Dave Schlosser said. “(We) rallied in the second, leading most of the set, ultimately losing 21-25. The third set looked to be all South, but we again fell short. Unforced errors and a rough passing night hurt the Titans.”
Ben Grove once again led the Titans offensively with a 20-kill night.
“He was only blocked once in all three sets, and the Patriots had no answer for him,” Schlosser said. “Josh Conley put in a good showing with six kills, two very crucial momentum changing blocks and 18 assists.
“Gavin Roth gave the team a boost coming in and making some spectacular sets. He finished with 10 assists.”
Will Nothum added six kills and a block on the evening.
Central Bucks East (4-3, 4-2 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks West on Thursday. CB South  (3-3) travels to Quakertown on Thursday.

SOUDERTON 3, NORTH PENN 0
The Indians earned a sweep of the visiting Knights.
Nate Brown’s 14 kills to go along with five digs led the Indians. Ian Nice added nine kills, five digs and two aces, and Derek Gilmore had five kills and two blocks. Ethan Frattrelli contributed four digs and three aces, and Alec Kreiser led the defense with 11 digs. Setter Levi Leatherman was credited with 27 assists.
Souderton (3-5, 3-3 SOL) will travel to Pennridge on Thursday, and North Penn (3-4, 2-4) will host Upper Dublin on Thursday.

PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-19)
The Rams remained perfect in SOL play, upping their record to 6-0.
Setter Evan Jalosinski dished out 26 assists. The Rams’ balanced attack included Logan Jalosinski (6 kills, 4 aces), Brady Fish (6 kills), Owen DeWitt (5 kills, 4 digs), Aaron Ladd (4 kills), Filippo  Tornambe (3 kills, 4 digs) and Charlie Clontz (2 kills, 2 blocks). Tyler Smith led the defense with six digs.
Pennridge (6-1, 6-0 SOL) will host Souderton on Thursday, and Quakertown (0-7, 0-6) will host Central Bucks South on Thursday.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-20)
The Cardinals earned a sweep of the visiting Bucks Tuesday.
Cory Pendleton had a big match, finishing with 14 kills, seven digs and four aces. Landon Kullmann had 12 kills, three aces and four digs, and Terrell Turner finished with eight kills, nine digs and two blocks. Gabe Copley added five kills. Setter Cole Brown handed out 31 assists to go along with one kill, two aces, eight digs and one block. Ari Weiner finished with seven digs and two aces.
For the Bucks, Oliver Hu and Cooper Tyksinski both had five kills. Hayden Morocco added three kills. Caleb Woodring’s 11 digs led the defense.
Upper Dublin (5-2, 4-2 SOL) will travel to North Penn on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (3-5, 2-4) will host Central Bucks East on Thursday.

Non-league
SOUTHERN LEHIGH 3, NESHAMINY 2 (25-18, 30-28, 13-25, 15-25, 15-9)

The visiting Redskins won the first two sets only to watch the Spartans rally to win the next three.
Setter El-Mansur Sagalive handed out 33 assists to go along with six kills, two blocks and one ace. John Nice led the Redskins with 11 kills, six digs, four blocks, one assist and two aces. Beknazar Balyshbekov added nine kills, seven digs and one block, Chase Nuttall contributed seven kills, one dig and three blocks, and Jackson Young had five kills and three blocks. Also contributing were Toby Kovaschetz (7 digs), Brandon Sloskey (1 ace, 2 kills, 2 digs, 3 blocks), Jake Giuliana (1 ace, 4 digs, 1 assist) and Aiden Hastings (1 ace, 3 digs, 1 assist).
Neshaminy (5-3, 4-2 SOL) will host Bensalem on Thursday.
