LOWER MORELAND GIRLS’ SOCCER PREVIEW
Coach: Todd Hill -2nd Year Head Coach
Assistant coach: Pat Brady
Last year’s record: Overall Record: 9-10, SOL: 8-2 Freedom Division League Champions
Playoff berth - Loss to Villa Joseph Marie
Notable losses: Lost three Key Starters: Payton Lennon (4-year all-league) now playing college soccer; Demmi Fox -also playing college soccer, and Sophia O’Brien, a standout wing defender.
Key returners:
Senior Goalkeeper Sandra Malave, Senior Defender Amelia Brown, and Senior Attacker Morgan Pennisi
Others to watch:
Senior Wing Defender Abbie Wasserstrom, Junior Midfielder Kenna Rozanski, and Junior Attacker Nikki Sahl
Strengths/Question Marks: We are returning eight quality starters, so we should have some good experience out on the field. However, we lost two key players in the middle of the field. We will have to see if the younger players can step into those shoes and control the middle of the field.
Outlook: “This is the second year that I will be coaching this team along with my assistant coach. There is always a transition period when a new coach comes in with new priorities and a new system. We are looking forward to building on the foundation that we built last year. The girls have been working hard and are eager to get out on the pitch. There is a strong leadership among the players this year that we expect will translate into a really competitive brand of soccer.”
