SOL National Conference

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11)
It took five sets, but the Panthers – on the heels of three straight losses - eked out the conference win over the visiting Indians in Thursday’s marathon match. Emmerson McElhinney was a catalyst both offensively and defensively, contributing 25 kills in a dominating performance at the net to go along with 17 digs.
“The entire team hung together against a very good Council Rock North team,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “Neither team gave up on any ball, and it was such a back-and-forth match with so many big plays on both sides.
“We had lost three in a row but knew we were better than how we have been playing. The girls really corrected a lot of things, and they always work hard. I’m very proud of them.”
Addy Criss turned in a monster defensive performance, contributing 38 digs. Marguax Kellum added 16 digs. Setter Izzy Goebel dished out 41 assists while Kristina Bentsionova led the Panthers’ service game with eight aces to go along with five blocks.
William Tennent (2-3, 1-2 SOL) will host New Hope-Solebury in a non-league match Friday, and Council Rock North (3-2, 1-1) will be on the road at Central Bucks East Friday.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, PENNSBURY 1
The Golden Hawks dropped the first set but rallied to win the next three in a hard-fought win over the host Falcons.
Edan Kauer led a balance Golden Hawk attack with nine kills to go along with 10 digs and four aces. Olivia DeSaro (6 kills, 3 blocks), Yana Kotlyarenko (6 kills) and Nala Kauer (5 kills) also made their presence felt on attack. Setter Ashlyn Dinan handed out 19 assists and also had six digs and one ace while Rachel Khelmer had seven assists, four aces and two kills. Cadence Palmer shared the team lead with 10 digs and added a pair of aces. Also contributing were Rachael Buchnik (1 block, 3 kills), Cassidy Melnick (4 digs, 1 ace) and Dara Botnick (1 kill).
Council Rock South (3-0, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham on Monday for a non-league match, and Pennsbury (4-2, 1-2) will be on the road at Harry S Truman Tuesday.

BENSALEM 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-22)
The Owls – sparked by an overpowering service game - rolled to a sweep of the host Tigers.
As a team, the Owls collectively had 21 aces. Chloe Costello led the defense with eight digs, two assists and an ace. Talia DiMichele evenly distributed the ball around with 20 assists, three aces and three kills. Ashley Tarr’s 10 kills led the Owls’ offense.
Lexi Ryan had a strong service run to help the Owls rally from a 14-2 deficit in the third set to earn the win, contributing seven aces, four digs and three kills.
Bensalem (3-2, 2-1 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Tuesday, and Harry S Truman (0-3, 0-1) will host Pennsbury on Tuesday.

SOL Continental Conference

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1
The Knights earned their first win of the young season, holding off the visiting Patriots in the four-set win.
For the Patriots, Arya Haridas (23 digs) and Abi Zmuda (6 digs) led the way defensively.
“On the offensive side, Mia Mettille did a great job of directing the attack with 24 assists to go along with two aces,” East coach Andy Helveston said.
On the receiving end of the majority of those sets were Catie Tomlinson (12 kills, 16 digs), Sophia Schwartz (6 kills, 2 blocks) and Regina Mathur (5 kills, 7 digs, 2 aces).
North Penn (1-3, 1-2 SOL) will host Abington on Monday, and Central Bucks East (1-5, 1-2) will host Council Rock North in a non-league match Friday.

SOL American Conference

ABINGTON 3, WISSAHICKON 0 (25-7, 25-11, 25-17)
The Ghosts dominated play in their sweep of the Trojans.
Setter Mary Carter handed out 23 assists and also had five kills. Sasha Moody led the Ghosts at the net with 13 kills. Liz Tanis had three kills and three blocks, and Elle Pennekamp contributed four kills.
Abington (3-1, 2-1 SOL) will be on the road at North Penn on Monday, and Wissahickon (1-4, 1-2) will host Central Bucks South on Friday.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, CHELTENHAM 0
The Lady Lions held off a much-improved, scrappy Cheltenham squad, earning a 3-0 win.
New Hope-Solebury (5-0, 3-0 SOL) will travel to William Tennent for a non-league match Friday at 5 p.m.., and Cheltenham (0-2, 0-2) will be on the road at Upper Dublin Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0

Non-league
SOUDERTON 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-17)

Souderton notched its fifth win over the young season, rolling to a sweep of the visiting Crusaders.
McKenna Murawski had another double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs to go along with three aces. Kay Guessford also had 13 kills and added four aces and five digs. Zoe Folk’s 15 digs led the defense. She also had a pair of assists. Setter Margaret Donnelly had 22 assists and six digs. Lauren Vince contributed two blocks and six digs.
Souderton (5-1, 2-0 SOL) will host Quakertown on Tuesday.
