COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 1 (25-13, 25-13, 21-25, 25-7)
The Indians won the first two sets of Tuesday’s match, but the Tigers battled back to win the third before Rock North closed it out for the four-set win.
“I have to give the Truman girls a lot of credit,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “They have had a tough year so far, and yet, there was no quit in them. They played very hard every point.”
Rock North was led by senior Kaitlyn Liedl with nine kills and six aces, junior Lucy Killian with six kills and four aces, Sophomore Olivia Szymkiewicz with eight kills and junior Addison Zarillo with six kills. Junior Madison Campbell added three kills. Junior setter Sarah McCafferty had 28 assists with three aces while Sophomore setter Marcela Roszko chipped in with 8 assists.
Council Rock North (5-3, 2-2 SOL) will travel to Bensalem for a 5 p.m. match Thursday, and Harry S Truman (0-6, 0-3) will host Council Rock South on Thursday at 5 p.m.
SOL Continental
SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 22-25, 15-12)
The Indians had their hands full in Tuesday’s road match at South, but sparked by the monster 29-kill effort of Kay Guessford, they eked out the five-set win. Guessford also had six aces and six digs.
McKenna Murawski added 11 kills, a team-high 23 digs and five aces. Zoe Falk contributed 20 digs, three aces and four assists. Setter Margaret Donnelly had 41 assists to go along with 10 digs and one block. Also contributing were Kaci Goshow (3 kills, 1 dig, 2 blocks) and Ella Rothenberger (3 kills, 4 aces, 3 digs).
Souderton (7-3 4-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (307, 1-5) will host Abington in a non-league match Thursday.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, PENNRIDGE 1 (25-15, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22)
Alexis Barklage and Rachel Hu combined for 31 kills in dominant performances at the net, leading the Bucks to the four-set win over the visiting Rams. Both teams entered Tuesday’s match without a loss in league play.
Barklage finished with 19 kills, two blocks and one dig while Hu had yet another double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs to go along with one block, five aces and five assists. Setters Erin Ferello (14 assists, 1 kill, 3 aces, 4 digs) and Elisa Kremser (24 assists, 3 kills, 3 blocks) spread the ball around to include Kya Lynch (7 kills, 1 block, 2 digs) and Hollis Walton (4 kills, 4 aces, 3 blocks). Alexa Lee led a strong service game with eight aces as well as 10 digs, and Amber Woodring had nine digs and three aces.
Central Bucks West (7-2, 5-0 SOL) will travel to Souderton on Thursday, and Pennridge (5-3, 4-1) will host North Penn on Wednesday.
NORTH PENN 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Knights earned a sweep of the visiting Panthers.
For the Panthers, setter Genevieve Clark had 13 assists and five digs. Also contributing were Grace White (3 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, 11 digs), Ellie White (3 kills, 2 aces, 1 block, 5 digs), Cece Bates (4 kills, 3 digs) and Mia Handschumacher (4 kills, 1 dig).
North Penn (3-4, 3-2 SOL) will travel to Pennridge on Wednesday, and Quakertown (2-5, 0-5) will travel to Central Bucks East on Thursday.
SOL American
UPPER DUBLIN 3, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0
The Flying Cardinals used a balanced effort in their sweep of the Hatters.
Reese Mackey’s eight kills led the attack. She also had two aces and four digs. Shanley Joyce was a force with seven blocks and four kills. Setter Kaitlyn Small dished out 22 assists and also had three kills, five aces, four digs and three blocks. Alisa Zeng’s 10 digs led the defense. Also contributing were Madison Small (4 kills, 2 aces), Natalie Marshall (4 kills, 3 blocks), Janis Andrulonis (3 kills, 1 ace, 5 digs) and Brooke Kinsley (1 kill, 1 assist, 8 digs).
Upper Dublin (5-3, 4-1 SOL) will host New Hope-Solebury on Thursday, and Hatboro-Horsham (1-5, 1-4) will travel to Wissahickon on Thursday.
PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20)
The Colonials won for the fifth time in as many matches, edging a tough New Hope team in a four-set match.
PW was led at the net by Amanda Busk (14 kills, 2 blocks) and Natalie Small (12 kills, 6 blocks, 4 aces). Brigid Keenan (17 digs, 5 aces) and Giuliana Storti (31 digs, 1 ace) anchored the defense while setter Julia Esslinger (35 assists, 4 kills, 2 aces) orchestrated the attack. Also making important contributions at the net were Marissa Storti (5 kills, 2 blocks) and Liz Mayer (2 kills, 3 blocks). The Colonials (5-1, 5-0 SOL) travel to Cheltenham on Thursday, and New Hope-Solebury (8-2, 3-2) will be on the road at Upper Dublin on Thursday.
ABINGTON 3, CHELTENHAM 0
Mary Carter directed the Ghosts’ offense with 25 assists and also had four aces. Mia Zetick had eight kills.
Abington (7-2, 4-2 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South Thursday, and Cheltenham (0-4, 0-4) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh Thursday.
Non-league
BENSALEM 3, WISSAHICKON 0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-12)
The Owls received contributions up and down their lineup in Tuesday’s sweep of the visiting Trojans.
Talia DiMichele evenly distributed the ball with 25 assists as well as four aces and a kill. Chloe Costello (6 digs) and Dene Howe (5 digs) led the defense. Ashley Tarr’s nine kills led the attack. She also had four digs. Allie Runowski had six kills and two aces while Mackenzie Kramer contributed four kills and one ace. Jordan Domansky chipped in with three kills. Underclassmen Kacey Wolanski (2 kills, 3 aces) and Evette Wesseh (2 kills, 1 block) also contributed.
Bensalem (4-5, 2-3 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Thursday, and Wissahickon (1-8, 1-4) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Thursday.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, BENSALEM 2
In a tight back and forth match of two evenly matched teams, the Lady Lions outlasted the Lady Owls 15-12 in the fifth set.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2 (25-18, 21-26, 22-25, 25-16, 15-9)
The Indians eked out a non-league win over the Titans in a grueling five-set match.
“If I were a fan in the stands, this was a fun match to watch, going back and forth for five sets,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “The match really turned around in between the third and fourth sets.
“Our senior co-captains, Kaitlyn Liedl and Emm McNulty settled the girls down and reminded them of our mission. Then, in the fourth set, junior Addison Zarillo ran a six-point service run that iced the set. In the middle of the fifth set, juniors Ava Mandato and Rylee Desruisseau each had a four-point service run to seal the set. “
Rock North was led by senior Katelyn Liedl's 17 kills and sophomore Olivia Szymkiewwicz's 15 kills. Senior Caitlyn Mahle chipped in five kills.
“It would have been six kills if we counted the chair she ran over chasing a ball,” Schweitzer said.
Setting the table once again was Junior Sarah McCafferty with 43 assists.
VILLA MARIA ACADEMY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17)
The Bucks won the first set only to watch a strong Hurricane squad win the next three.
For the Bucks, Alexis Barklage (18 kills, 1 block, 2 digs) and Rachel Hu (16 kills, 1 ace, 20 digs) both turned in huge performances. Elisa Kremser (19 assists, 2 kills, 2 blocks) and Erin Ferello (16 assists, 7 digs) shared setting duties. Alexa Lee had a big game for the defense, sharing the team lead with Hu with 20 digs to go along with two assists. Amber Woodring added two aces and seven digs while Hollis Walton had three kills and two aces, and Kya Lynch added one kill, one ace and three blocks.
ABINGTON 3, VILLA JOSEPH MARIE 1 (25-15, 25-21, 24-26, 30-28)
The Ghosts rolled to wins in the opening two sets and, after dropping the third set, found itself extended in the fourth set but held on for the win.
Mary Carter handed out 23 assists and also had six kills. Liz Tanis had seven kills and two blocks, and Sasha led the Ghosts with nine kills. Liz Whisman led the defense with 12 digs.
