PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Chris Kohlbrenner & Shyne Roberts, Upper Dublin – The seniors – the only two Flying Cardinals with playoff experience from last year’s District 1 5A championship squad - each scored a pair of touchdowns and were the catalysts in Upper Dublin’s 40-20 win over Methacton in an opening round District 1 5A contest. Both are also key players on the defensive side of the football.
Coach Bret Stover says: “Kohlbrenner had two touchdown runs, and he’s not even a running back. He’s a wide receiver, but he had to play running back tonight because somebody got hurt.
Chris stepped in, and that meant Shyne (Roberts) was the blocker, and he did what we asked of him. He was out there on one leg, and after they cut it to 27-20, the first play when we get the ball back, he goes 70 yards for a touchdown. Everybody was like, ‘Shyne’s here, we’re good.’”

OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Amir Major, North Penn – The senior running back accounted for all five touchdowns in North Penn’s 42-35 loss to Spring-Ford in an opening round game of the District 1 6A Tournament. Major – once again a workhorse out of the backfield – had 33 carries for 181 yards and four rushing touchdowns. He also had one reception for 28 yards and a touchdown.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Danny Dyches, Souderton – The senior safety was a catalyst on defense in Souderton’s 21-14 come-from-behind win over Pennsbury in an opening round District 1 6A contest. Dyches shared the team lead with 12 tackles and also came up with the game’s biggest defensive play – an interception in the closing minutes of the game that set up the game-winning touchdown.
Sean Moskowitz, Central Bucks South – The senior linebacker delivered a game-saving defensive play in Central Bucks South’s 21-20 win over Coatesville in an opening round game of the District 1 6A Tournament, coming up with a stop in the closing moments of the Red Raiders 2-point conversion attempt to win the game. He also had a hand in eight tackles.
Sterling Limo Honor Roll:
Ryan Clemens, Central Bucks West – The junior running back ran for 99 yards and two touchdowns and also had a pair of field goals in Central Bucks West’s 27-12 win over Cheltenham in an opening round District 1 6A contest.
Anthony Ferrugio, Quakertown – The senior defensive end collected his fourth interception of a remarkable season, turning it into a touchdown in Quakertown’s 36-26 loss to Perkiomen Valley in an opening round District 1 6A contest. The senior also had a pair of touchdown receptions.
Julian Adorno, Souderton – The junior linebacker shared the team lead with 12 tackles in Souderton’s 21-14 win over Pennsbury in an opening round District 1 6A contest.
Ryan Sadowski, Souderton – The senior running back rushed 19 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns in Souderton’s 21-14 first round District 1 6A win over Pennsbury in an opening round District 1 6A contest.
Max Vizza, Tye Hines, Shi-Nobi Morffiah, Eddie Moyett, Jared Thomas-Payne & tight end Chase Rarrick, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The Colonials’ offensive line paved the way for 353 yards total offense in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 42-7 win over Hatboro-Horsham in an opening round game of the District 1 6A Tournament.
Ben Walsh, Souderton – The sophomore quarterback shook off a 2-for-9 start to finish the game 12-for-21 with 150 yards passing in Souderton’s 21-14 win over Pennsbury in an opening round District 1 6A contest. Walsh was a catalyst in Souderton’s late TD drive to knot the score.
