BENSALEM 3, NORTH PENN 0 (27-25, 25-15, 25-17)
Bensalem opened its season with a sweep of the visiting Knights.
Veer Patel (30 assists 3 aces 5 digs) and libero Luv Patel (3 aces 3 assists 11 digs) had strong games all around for the Owls. Jahaan Patel (9 kills 3 blocks), Dev Patel (8 kills 4 digs) and Yosuf Khan (3 kills 1 block) led the offensive attack. Vraj Patel (4 kills 4 blocks) and Billy Bibeck (5 kills 1 block) had strong matches out of the middle. Shiv Patel and Roman Walsh kept the pressure on from the service line.
Bensalem (1-0) will host Lansdale Catholic on Monday at 5:30 pm.
WISSAHICKON 3, SOUDERTON 1
The visiting Trojans earned a non-league win over the Indians.
For the Indians, Derek Stefanowicz had a big match, finishing with a double-double (18 kills, 10 digs). Justin Dopper had eight kills (.400 hitting efficiency) and eight blocks while Everett Self had seven kills and 17 digs. Sawyer Jones also had seven kills (.389 efficiency) and nine blocks. Connor Basile added 10 digs and three aces, and Colton Musselman had five kills and eight blocks.
Souderton setter Kelly Kim had 42 assists.
Wissahickon (1-0) will host North Penn in Monday’s SOL opener. Souderton (0-1) will host Lansdale Catholic in a non-league match Tuesday at 6 p.m.
