BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1
Bensalem defeated Council Rock South 3-1 on Thursday to improve to 12-1 on the season. The game was highlighted by junior setter Veer Patel’s 1,000th assist.
“Veer is everything you want in a setter. He is humble and calm under pressure,” Bensalem coach Tim Linehan said. “He spreads the ball around and makes great decisions. It is no coincidence that our team has excelled with Veer running the show the last two years. He is a great young man and a pleasure to coach.”
The Owls were led by the trio of Dev Patel (15 kills), Jahaan Patel (14 kills 3 blocks 3 aces) and Yosuf Khan (10 kills 3 aces). Middles Billy Bibeck (7 kills 3 blocks) and Vraj Patel (3 kills 5 blocks) also played well for the Owls. Veer Patel finished the game with 44 assists 1 block and 1 ace.
Bensalem (12-1, 7-1 SOL) will host Council Rock North on Friday, and Council Rock South (1-13, 1-9) will host Abington on Tuesday.

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-22, 25-18, 18-25, 25-15)
The visiting Rams defeated the Titans in four sets.
Setter Evan Jalosinski dished out 41 assists and also contributed five digs. On the receiving end of many of those sets was the trio of Bryce Ammon (20 kills, 9 digs, 2 aces, 2 blocks), Aaron Ladd (12 kills, 8 digs, 7 aces, 4 blocks) and Chris Cullen (10 kills, 5 blocks). Cullen finished with an outstanding hitting percentage of .833. Ethan Vo’s 12 digs led the defense. Also contributing were Brady Fish (2 kills), Tyler Smith (2 kills, 4 digs) and Pharaoh Dale (5 digs).
Pennridge (11-1, 10-0 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Tuesday, and Central Bucks South (4-7, 3-7) will host Souderton on Tuesday.
SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 2 (25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 25-27, 21-19)
The visiting Indians won the first two sets and then dropped the next two before edging the Bucks in a winner-take-all fifth set.
Derek Stefanowicz turned in a monster 25-kill performance to lead the Indians at the net in the grueling match. He also had 17 digs to complete his impressive double-double. Everett Self also had a big night with 16 kills, nine digs and one ace. Colton Musselman contributed seven kills, two blocks and four digs, and Justin Doppler had five kills, four digs and one ace. Gio Iervolino had two kills and five blocks. Setter Kelly Kim handed out 53 assists and also had three blocks and seven digs in a strong outing. Connor Basile had a huge defensive game with 24 digs to go along with one ace.
For the Bucks, Cooper Tyksinski (20 kills, 11 digs), Dean Nguyen (16 kills, 26 digs), Logan McHenry (13 kills) and Christian Woo (12 kills) also had big nights. Setter Liam Boyle dished out 57 assists and also had13 digs in a standout effort of his own.
Souderton (7-8, 5-5 SOL) will host Dock Mennonite in a non-league match Monday, and Central Bucks West (7-7, 5-5) will travel to North Penn on Tuesday.
NORTH PENN 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Knights earned a sweep of the visiting Panthers.
North Penn’s offense was led by junior outsides Max Reilly (10 kills, 2 aces, 8 digs), and Connor Notte (10 kills, 9 digs). Opposite Shane McElroy followed with 6 kills and 2 blocks. Middle Jack Woodland contributed 3 kills and 3 blocks while Caden Wine added 2 blocks and 1 kill. Sophomore libero Prithvi Patel led the defense with 16 digs. Aaron Birkmire dished 32 assists along with one kill and 2 aces. Other contributing players were Bo Schulze with 2 kills and Brian Rodoff with 4 digs.
For the Panthers, Owen Williams (7 kills, 6 digs), Owen Reinford (6 kills, 2 aces, 10 digs) and Owen Longacre (5 kills, 2 blocks, 5 digs) led the way at the net. Setter Sean Gillin had 24 assists to go along with one ace and seven digs. Also contributing were Alex Alfaro-Diaz (2 kills, 1 ace), Vadym Mazurak (2 kills, 2 digs), Jack Harris (2 kills, 3 digs), Quinn Costanzo (8 digs) and Joey Giannin (2 digs).
North Penn (3-12, 2-8 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Tuesday, and Quakertown (1-11, 0-10) will travel to Nazareth for a non-league match Friday.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
The visiting Cardinals notched their 10th win of the season with a sweep of the Patriots.
Cory Pendleton (14 kills, 10 digs, 1 block), Zakary Brown (10 kills, 1 ace, 13 digs, 1 block) and Seamus Frayne (7 kills, 1 dig, 1 block) were a triple threat at the net. Setter Scott Barenbaum handed out 34 assists and also had three digs and one ace. Potter Rudl added four kills, one dig and one block, and Joseph Theodorson also had four kills. Dominick Plaku added 12 digs and one ace, and Michael Loose had eight digs.
For the Patriots, Ryan Coxey (9 assists, 7 digs, 1 kill) and AJ Helveston (14 assists, 2 kills, 3 digs) shared setting duties. Reid Miller led the Patriots at the net with 12 kills and also had one ace and two digs. Kyle Knorr led the defense with nine digs to go along with one assist and one kill while Rhys Marshall had seven digs. Evan Blank finished with seven digs, three blocks and four kills, and Shane Sutton had four kills. Tommy LeFever had one block.
Upper Dublin (10-2, 8-2 SOL) will be on the road at Quakertown on Tuesday, and Central Bucks East (8-5, 7-3) will host Wissahickon in a non-league match Friday.
