Pennsbury seniors lead the way for the Falcons 3-0 win against rival Neshaminy.
Impressive performance by Senior outside Jake Bucksar helping lead the way for us tonight. I am really happy to see him stepping it up come playoff time. He has been hitting some great shots at outside in practice and now I am seeing it consistently in games. He has been such a steady player for us the past two seasons and often gets overlooked. He is just a winner. He somehow finds a way to get the job done year after year no matter what we ask him to do as coaches. Last season he was a setter and only played backrow. This year he is an outside and has done a really great job of being a consistent and steady blocker for us.
Nate Knapp continues to be himself and play impressively on a daily basis. He is very close to breaking the single season kill record for Pennsbury held by Pennsbury Volleyball legend Joe Yasalonis (2010). Nate is at 321 kills on the season and hitting .460 and we do not count tournament stats only regular season matches and playoffs. Joe Yasalonis had 345 kills in 2010. A season in which Pennsbury made it all the way to the state finals. It is very impressive to see Nate have so many kills without such a long playoff run. He has a good chance to also break the all time career kill record if we can keep winning. He is currently 2nd all time with 604 kills and Joe is first with 671 kills. The best part about it is there is no player nicer and more humble than Nate. I love everything about this kid and he deserves all the recognition coming his way.
Senior Libero #10 Ben Bedard is also having a fantastic season for us and often gets overshadowed by the dominate attacking performances of Nate and others. Ben has 202 digs on the season so far putting him 2nd all time in a single season. Ben only needs 22 more digs to be the all time single season leader passing Brad Edwards (2016) with 223. Ben is also closing in on the career all time dig total. He is at 374 career digs and needs 33 more digs to pass Charlie Bluestein (2018 grad) with 406.
Senior middle #7 Anthony Klyuchnyk is currently hitting .507 on the season which would be the highest hitting efficiency for a single season in Pennsbury volleyball history.
Sr. Outside #2 Jake Bucksar hit .600 and had 7 kills, 3 assists, 1 dig, 1 block.
Sr. Opposite #13 Nathan Knapp hit .464 with 18 kills, 1 ace, 2 assists, 3 digs, 3 blocks.
Sr. Libero #10 Ben Bedard 12 digs, 3 assists and was perfect from the service line.
Sr. Middle #7 hit .400 with 3 kills, 2 blocks.
Jr. Setter #9 Kieran Shaw had 32 assists, 4 kills, 4 digs, 1 block.
Jr. Outside #22 Lukas Ricciardi 5 kills, 5 digs, 1 block.
Jr. Middle #21 Billy Cavanagh 5 kills, .300, 1 block.
Sr. Serving specialist/DS #3 Quinten Kervick had 1 ace, 3 digs.
