Reasons for choosing Penn College of Technology: “I love the campus, the academic opportunities it offers and the lacrosse program.
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I realized I wanted to play in college at the end of middle school when I joined my Blak Widow Select club team. My recruiting process started at the end of my sophomore year when I began getting emails from colleges regarding playing at the next level.”
Best memory competing in sports at Quakertown? “My most memorable moment was my freshman year in general. It was a great group of guys, a fun group, a bunch of leaders that I looked up to. It was when I realized I wanted to take lacrosse seriously, and I fell in love with the sport.”
Coach Anthony Carty says: “Cody - from the first time he stepped on the lacrosse field when he was a freshman – started to compete right away. One of the few things you can ask an athlete to do every time he shows up is to compete. When he was a freshman, he was a lot smaller than the other guys, but he competed. I told him to go get ground balls, and he competed. He got knocked around a lot. In his sophomore year, he didn’t get knocked around as much, and then he started knocking people around the next couple of years. This is a kid who always competed in practice, never was satisfied with what he was doing, never was satisfied with one thing when he could do two things. He always did exactly what he was taught to do. I named him a captain in his junior and senior years, and he led the team in an outstanding manner. He taught the young kids – he called them, he made sure they’d done what they had to do. There is not anything that I can’t say about him. I’m not surprised that he has committed to play in college. His parents are outstanding people, and they’ve raised an excellent athlete. In our league in lacrosse, we are putting someone in the district final almost every year. To be named to the all-league team the last two years is being named just like athletes who are going to Division 1 and 2 colleges all over the country, so I am overjoyed for Cody.”
