Upper Moreland Comments
The Upper Moreland players were excited for their first “real game”. We lost our 4 top scorers from last year’s squad, so are looking for some new faces to find the back of the cage! And the Bears were able to score 3 times to defeat the visiting Truman team.

For the first goal of the game - returning junior midfielder Ella Gould, now playing forward, got a pass from freshman Olivia Torres for the Bears first score after a scrum in front of the cage. The 2nd goal was scored by a scrappy Torres with an assist from senior Charleis Fayall. Throughout the game, our midfielders Bridget Hess, Kyleigh Convey, Melissa Torpe, Soph Riehle and Bethany Slagle were relentless in not letting the ball out of our offensive scoring zone.
The Bears also did a great job causing Truman’s defense to foul in the circle- as UM was awarded 9 penalty corners throughout the game.
The final goal came on a tip from left mid Bethany Slagle to Melissa Torpey to make the score 3 - 0.
In the 4th quarter, Truman forced a corner and was able to score.
Defenders Izzy Duncan, Mackenzie Reilly, Julia Gallen and Kelly Bates played awesome throughout the game keeping the ball out of our circle until the final quarter. Ash Conrad and Addi Hurley split time and had one save each.
