Ben Fadden – Bryn Athyn College (Lacrosse)
Major: Finance
Reasons for choosing Bryn Athyn: “I chose Bryn Athyn for the athletics, and it’s also a good school.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite lacrosse moment was beating Wissahickon last year.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Ben was a two-year varsity player at Souderton Lacrosse. He took a large step forward in game IQ and knowledge between his junior and senior year which got him a lot more playing time. He would consistently make the most of his opportunities, whether making plays on defense or locking someone off. He was also reliable in the clear and made a lot of plays in the middle of the field catching passes or picking up ground balls.”
Emerson Goering – Messiah University (Lacrosse)
Major: Business
Final list of colleges: Messiah, Liberty
Reasons for choosing Widener: “I really liked the environment at Messiah. I loved the lacrosse program, and it felt like a better fit for me.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory is when we were beating Pottsgrove, and we started subbing out players to the point where our goalie went in to play defense. It was just funny to me.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Emerson was a three-year varsity player for Souderton lacrosse during his career. He consistently worked hard on and off the field to become the best player he could. He would always ask how he could be better and then would work on doing what you asked him to do during practice or games. He always made the most of the opportunities he got throughout the season. He will be attending Messiah College to further his academic and athletic career where I know he will continue to put his best foot forward and work hard to be even better.”
Seth Grossman – Stevenson University (Lacrosse)
Major: Business
Final list of colleges: Stevenson, Ursinus
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “The reason I chose Stevenson was because of the coaching, the location, and the history of the program really stood out to me.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “Beating CB East for the first time in program history.”
Craig Hunsberger says: “Seth is a four-year starter and a captain his senior year, who is second only to John Martin Vince in career points and goals with (212 points, 121 goals, 89 assists). He was a talented player who worked hard every day when he showed up to practice, whether at lifting or out on the field. He always wanted to be in the game when games were close, he was a great two-way midfielder who excelled at turning defense into quick offense. Multiple times off defensive plays or big ground balls you would see Seth come out of the pile and knife through the defense to make a play. He was another player like John who you could trust with the ball when the game was on the line. He was a first team midfielder in the SOL National this year.”
Jaden Knize – Eastern University (Lacrosse)
Major: Digital Media
Final list of colleges: Eastern, Arcadia
Reasons for choosing Eastern: “I chose Eastern because it felt like home, and I got the most money from them.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was last year beating CB East for the first time in Souderton lacrosse history and just all the late nights with the boys.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Jaden was a three-year varsity player and a captain his senior year, who was a Swiss army knife for Souderton during his career. He started out playing defensive mid his sophomore year, I could tell he had the potential to be a really great midfielder if he put in the work. Over the next couple years, he really dedicated himself to the game and to getting better in every aspect he could, attending every offseason workout and practice. This year I asked him to start playing some offensive midfielder for me as well where he delivered his best scoring season with 15 goals and 11assists with 37 ground balls. He did that while also playing on the faceoff wing, being in on defense and many times being our one-man clear. He was named second team SSDM in the SOL National.”
Sean Landis – Albright College (Lacrosse)
Major: Undecided
Final list of colleges: Albright, West Chester, Bloomsburg
Reasons for choosing Albright: “I really only looked at Albright for lacrosse, but I was looking at West Chester and Bloomsburg. I decided to play men’s lacrosse instead of club lacrosse. The reason I picked Albright is the opportunity that they give there. Meeting the team was great, the coach was great as well.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory is getting the game-winner against CB East. It was great to celebrate with the boys.
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Sean was a four-year varsity player for Souderton during his career. During his first two years, he played midfield for us where he was a reliable stick who made good decisions with the ball in his stick. During his junior and senior years, we asked him to play attack. During his senior campaign, he really found his niche in our offense showing reliable stick skills and inside finishing. He ended the year with 20 goals and 11 assists where many of his goals were scored within a few yards of the crease, whether he caught it or cleaned up the loose ball.”
Shawn Martin – University of Scranton (Lacrosse)
Major: Undecided
Final list of colleges: Scranton, Salisbury
Reasons for choosing Scranton: “I chose Scranton because the size and location of the school. I felt it was the best fit for me.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory would be sophomore year when we beat Lansdale Catholic in a comeback win.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Shawn was a four-year varsity player who was instrumental to our team over his four years. His freshman and sophomore year, he showed that he was a great faceoff guy who could also play midfielder. He was injured for his junior season and the majority of his senior season only playing in a few games towards the end of the year after being cleared to play. He worked extremely hard during his junior and senior year to rehab and work to get back to playing well, also helping serve as a coach to our younger faceoff men on the team, working with them on their technique, giving them drills or even just blowing the whistle. Scranton is lucky to have him even though he has been hurt the last two years. He has the potential to be an impact player for any team he plays for.”
Ryan Rothenberger – Delaware Valley University (Lacrosse)
Major: Sustainable Agriculture
Final list of colleges: Delaware Valley, PA College of Technology
Reasons for choosing Del Val: “I ultimately chose Del Val because I liked the coach and the environment on campus.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “I would say junior year beating number one seeded Wissahickon.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “Ryan was a four year varsity starter and a captain his senior year. He was one of the integral parts in our defense who helped lead us to a 13-5 record this season. We often tasked him with guarding the opposing team’s best offensive player whether they were at attack or midfield. He always worked hard in the weight room and out on the field. He achieved second team SOL National this year while giving us one of his best years in the process. There were multiple times where he generated turnovers by pressuring the opposing teams or even generating transitions by picking up ground balls and moving them up the field.”
John Martin Vince – Stevenson University (Lacrosse)
Major: Business
Final list of colleges: Stevenson, Ursinus
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “I chose Stevenson because when I first set foot on campus – I loved it, and Ursinus was a little too close to home.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “Our win over CB West this year because I think that was the first tough opponent that we beat, and that helped propel our season forward.”
Coach Craig Hunsberger says: “John was a four-year starter and a captain his senior year, who ended up amassing the most points and goals (261 points, 178 goals, 83 assists) in Souderton lacrosse history. He was an extremely talented player who always worked hard on and off the practice field. Throughout his career, we would rely on him having the ball in his stick in crunch time scenarios late in game or overtime. We would let him make the decisions on what to do with the ball. Time after time, he would prove that he deserved it. Whether making a game-winning feed or taking a game tying/ winning shot, he would come through with both happening this season alone. He was first team attack SOL National this year and helped lead the team to a 13-5 record against one of the hardest schedules we have ever played to-date.”
