SOL Girls' Volleyball Wrap (9-12-24)

Check out the recaps for SOL girls’ volleyball teams in action Thursday.

SOL National Conference

BENSALEM 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-17)
The visiting Owls rolled to a sweep of the Tigers to earn their first conference win.
Dene Howe led the defense with 10 digs. Talia DiMichele dished out 18 assists and contributed four kills. Maci McKernan led the attack with nine kills. Meghan Murry recorded her first two varsity kills.
The team combined for 21 aces.
Bensalem (1-5, 1-3 SOL) will host Parkway Center Middle College in a non-league match Friday. Harry S Truman (3-3, 0-3) will host Neshaminy Tuesday.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, NESHAMINY 2 (25-17, 23-25, 20-25, 25-20, 21-19)
Council Rock North and Neshaminy engaged in what could only be described as a 2-hour-10-minute tug of war Thursday.  Splitting the first four sets was only a prelude to a captivating fifth set.  The score was knotted at 12 all, and from there, no more than one point separated these teams until the final point was scored.
“Neshaminy is so well coached,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “Their setter always puts a hittable ball, and their libero must have had 40 digs.  Their offense is varied and efficient.
“If the SOL has a Most Improved team, Neshaminy is it.  If the SOL has a Coach of the Year, the head coach from Neshaminy is it.”
Council Rock North was led by Olivia Szymkiewicz with 26 kills and 6 aces, Sloane Jordan with 18 kills and Addison Zarillo had 14 kills.  Sarah McCafferty had a season high 48 assists
Council Rock North (4-2, 4-1 SOL) will travel to Methacton for a non-league match Friday, and Neshaminy (4-3, 1-2) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Monday.

Non-league
SOUDERTON 3, COATESVILLE 0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-16)

Lauren Vince led the way with 12 kills to go along with three digs and one ace. Stella Powers dished out 23 assists and also had five aces, five kills and three digs. Zoe Folk led the Indians’ defense with 17 digs and also had two aces and one assist. Emma Conklin contributed seven kills, four digs and one ace while Lily Self had four kills, three aces and two digs.
