Pennsbury Second at Southern Lehigh Tournament
The Falcons captured second place at the Southern Lehigh Tournament Saturday.
“Southern Lehigh was a very well-coached team, and you understand why they are ranked sixth in the state in AAA,” Pennsbury coach Bob Burns said. “We are very happy with our results and have a lot to improve on after playing such a well-rounded team.”
Non-league

Bensalem (3-5, 1-3 SOL) will host Council Rock South Tuesday (5 pm).
ABINGTON 3, WISSAHICKON 0
The Ghosts won their fifth match of the season with their sweep of the visiting Trojans.
Setter Mary Carter dished out 24 assists and also had a strong game at the service line, finishing with eight aces. Sofia Heininger led the Ghosts at the net with 13 kills while Sasha Moody had 10.
Abington (5-2, 4-1 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham Tuesday.
PENNRIDGE 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (25-13, 21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-10)
Pennridge jumped out to a large lead in the first set and carried it through to a convincing win. From the second set on, the match went back and forth with Rock North taking sets two and four in a spirited match.
The Rams won the fifth set for their ninth win in as many games
“In the fifth set, several aces and some great defense pushed Pennridge's lead to 9-1 – our rally fell a little short,” Rock North coach Joe Schweitzer said. “Pennridge just does not make many mistakes and keeps the ball in play and then put sthe ball away with some precise attacks. While on defense, their floor coverage was exceptional.”
Council Rock North was led by Olivia Szymkiewicz with 16 kills and one ace, Sloane Jordan with 11 kills and Addison Zarillo had 13 kills. Sarah McCafferty had 24 assists while Marcela Roszko had 14 assists.
Pennridge (9-0, 4-0 SOL) will host Quakertown Tuesday, and Council Rock North (4-4, 4-1) will host Central Bucks West Tuesday.
